Indeed.

SoundSet format.
V1 = WusikSND - single Subdirectory system
V2 = WusikSND - unlimited Subdirectory System with any number of Level-Downs.

Preset Format.
V1 = BNK/PRST files - single Subdirectory system - BNKs are limited to only 96 presets.
V2 = WusikPRST files - unlimited Subdirectory System with any number of Level-Downs.

New directories created that only V2 will use
\TUN Files
\Presets

Skins
V1 and V2 skins are compatible with each other. BUT V2 has new graphics for the File-Browser and Configuration windows. The code will use DEFAULT Graphics when those V2 files are not found. So loading a V2 skin with a V1 DLL or vice-versa will still work.

So, resuming. Yes, we can make Manystation V2 be compatible with all Wusikstation V1 files. But only if the SoundSets are kept in the same way they were with V1. Paul could just convert the presets to the new V2 format and categorize/organize the presets. This won't affect Wusikstation V1.

Hope that this is more clear now. ;-)

Hi All
I just confirmed this here:
I have version 1 of ManyStation working alongside of Version 2 of WusikStation.

All old songs with both Dlls are fine and still load without problems.

So ... as long as you do not change your original folder then both should work alongside. (as said they are here so far)
I installed the Ver2 product into my existing Ver 1 Data folder just as before so they can share and work together.

All should be fine then from what i see so far.

Indeed, read the post above, as we found out a solution for that. 8)

Yes you're right. William's earlier post confused me, but apparently there's no problem. Anyway, we had a lot of fun together, in this thread :D

Ok, my mistake. Thank you for clearing this out. :)

Has Manystation been updated to use the Wusik v2 engine yet? I've not had a mail if it has - if it hasn't then is this still the plan?

I'm totally happy with ManyStation as it stands by the way, I'm curious to know if/how this whole v1/v2 thing worked out.

Regards,

Derek.

Hi Derek
We will be adopting the Version 2 engine after we release ManyGuitar which should be in a week or there abouts. I can then concentrate on getting this ver2 engine out for ManyStation.

So you have not missed it yet ;-)

Cheers
