I am fascinated by the concept of a studio that is built with the clearly stated purpose

He may well have achieved that since he died the year after it was built... I'd say he was still reading the manuals at that point. He died of a drug overdose. Maybe he couldn't figure out how to use all those damn sliders.

people like tom f**king psycho cruise will say that he was a war hero; the truth is rather different. as a ship captain (and it was not the ship they say it was, either ) he was nearly court marshalled. After firing a massive salvo at a small mexican island during ww2, based on some wierd idea he had, and then trying to blame one of the most highly regarded 'real' war heros of the time, he was written up as 'totally unfit for active sea duty of any kind without the closest supervision'.
