Right. He said infinitely more analog, but he forgot to add "infinitely louder". :D
HEHEHE Not necessarily if you know what's a "hot plate".

I got PodXT, and Amplitube. But I'm still severely annoyed that NI is once again tugging at my credit card.

The GR floorboard may be harder to hide for the wife though...

Kovacs, how do you rate the recorded sound of the PODXT vs the Amplitube? I've got the latter but obviously that ain't portable for stage use :)

I am able to get much better sounds from Amplitube than from the PodXT (my main guitar is an Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette).

Plus I hate fiddling with the knobs on the XT...Amplitube is much easier for me to get a grip on.

This is purely personal, of course...but I find myself not using the PodXT anymore.

But yes, portability is an issue. At the moment I don't play in a band so it's not a problem for me but I'm hanging on to the XT just in case. I have an FCB1010 floorboard so I can always bring my Mac laptop and connect it to the PA.

I am awaiting the release of Amplitube 2 which might nail the case for the PodXT ...but this NI offer is tempting...

Not when you already have a V-amp2 with floorboard (which, fortunately happens to be blue too), and can just hide that one.

Remember what Indiana Jones did in the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark when he swaps the statue with the sandbag?
That's my plan.

Thanks Kovacs, for keeping my gear lust for a PODXT at bay :D

I'm also waiting for Amplitube 2, since I understand there is an upgrade path for us Amplitube users. But Squids is eerily silent on th release date!!!

BTW, all electric guitar on my "Its Beautiful EP" (you can hear snippets at http://www.lenmusic.com/music.php) were Amplitube, and I think they sound OK :)

Cheers

Who cares, NI droped the price that was too high anyway,
probably because of Waves GTR street price of $450...

I don't like the sound of Guitar Rig, I prefer Amplitube.
I hope Amplitube2 will be worth waiting for but I am going to demo waves GTR as well.

By the way for those who prefer hardware solutions.
Here is a beautiful alternative.
Never played one but I think it will smoke anything mentioned here.

Very expensive but I heard you can get a half decent deal on it if you call around.

Yeah it sucks but I heard Amplitube2 will come with a dongle as well so as much as I hate it I might have to give in to my "no dongle" policy.
