No, I wrote a lyric. I was going to *sing* something over my new tune. It would be prohibitively time consuming to cut-n-paste the vocals from old entries. To hell with rules. I've got 28 samples/tracks, two of which would be the new vocal overdub hence the 93/7 old-new ratio.
Like I said, it's not even scary. I heard this *dude* on the radio a while back who said he was into "Graver" music. I think it's some kind of frightening Goth and Rave hybrid. I was inspired.

Use a vocoder with someone else's track as the carrier wave, then you can have both your lyric and remain 100% true to the contestYou™ wrote:No, I wrote a lyric. I was going to *sing* something over my new tune.
I also don't see anything wrong with using sound clips from past songs to fuel Absynth or it's like and then composing a new song out of this material. Chop up someone's beat and write a new one. It certainly doesn't need to be all audio manipulation, cut & paste, blah, blah, blah.
I really need to get me arse in gear and put some Graveyard material up. Some sound clips from my April entry would probably be useful.

kinda funny you would mention that...I was thinking about posting my gf's voice samples from that month as well. It started me thinking, why is Spring scary?emdot_ambient wrote:Some sound clips from my April entry would probably be useful.

Well, my entry that month had a lot of vocal samples of people describing why Spring pisses them off. Most of them probably aren't of use here but some are, like a lo-fi recording of me taken from a handheld digital voice recorder saying:birrbits wrote:kinda funny you would mention that...I was thinking about posting my gf's voice samples from that month as well. "I have nothing to fear but fear itself."
"Every day I know less and less about who I am."
I mic'd it directly from the little 1" speaker in the thing, so it's really rough sounding.
That and the musical track behind the office part of the song was kind of a Residents off-kilter thing that might be useful.

Danke!
Okay, my entry's up. For better or worse.
It really sounds like a Bladerunner scene to me, though it has little to do with the Vangelis score used in the flick. Think the tail end of a brutal chase through the rain at night in overcrowded streets, the finally retired replicant spinning out of control in its final death spasms--in slow-motion--our hero nearly spent in the chase, watching in almost sad exhaustion.

i was trying to give a new life to this deadly thread, kind of 'not dub' thing if you want. i generally don't like Vangelis, but this soundtrack is rather well done. the love sax piece is haunting.

Yes, obviously.
I think everyone involved is either . . . not involved, or they're dead. They're probably not undead, 'cause I've heard the undead make a lot more noise than this (even if it's only moaning "Braaaaains!")
