I guess I love logic.
My bro & best mate both use it.
My bro was a mac guy anyway, my mate bought a mac so that he could upgrade (being a p.c. & logic 5.5 orphan).
I was actually saving up the money to buy logic myself when I heard about the mac only thing.
I even built a few environments for remote contol using generic controllers etc. for my mate.
It seemed to have a fairly high learning curve initially - but after that it's a cool package.
The included effects & synths are top notch, the workflow's excellent, especially those quantise options etc.
But what's with the prohibitively expensive applecare support costs - $399 a year so that you can ring their support line?
& your only eligible if your using the latest upgrade & it doesn't cover 'third-party products or their effects on or interactions with a Supported Product' - take it this includes when apple update their OS, AU specs etc. & shit stops working.
Leaf taken from Waves book here it seems - generate a constant income stream.
Still a nice program, shame that apple are attempting to rinse the users out for all their worth.

who needs support anyway.. al they ever tell you is to repair permissions and restart and repair permissions and.. you have to be a complete idiot to need their support
I'm not buying into their payed upgrades either. Logic is working just fine for now and I don't need their Intel bollocks, extra loops and -at the moment still- unknown list of bug fixes. People still work happily in 5.5 but for some reason some people think they absolutely need 7.2 or they'll be unable to make music
bollocks. I don't feel one bit bad for the idiots who throw their money away. Apple is just like any other big company and if you're stupid enough you buy into their schemes you deserve it, it's a s simple as that
I'll pay for a major update like I do for any other software, bollocks to the rest

Btw, a question to you Logic 7 users: Does it allow printing an effect straight to a track while recording by now?
While you usually wouldn't do such a thing because of losing control on the sound in the mix, with things such as Guitar Rig it'd make quite some sense. GR isn't exactly your CPUs best friend, and I usually know which sounds I need, so I could as well print them into the file while recording (mind you, no FX though).
Defenitely one advantage of SX, which is offering an input channel (the ones in Logic can only be bounced, not recorded).
But maybe it's there in v7?

As I'm not sure whether I'll stay entirely mobile (which is what I'm doing right now, quite love it), my "still to be aquired" (*sigh*) Mac might be a notebook model. And while they're really catching up with desktops, anything useful to save up CPU power is defenitely still welcome.

But I still love it with all it's flaws cause the pros outweigh the cons for me. Just waiting for the new dual cores from intel and the general consensus that everything is working fine for MacOSX86 and i'll switch in no minute. keep my old pc for windows xp and all the PC plugins and when Vista is out dual boot
. Still wish they hadn't killed the windows version but i can see why Apple being a hardware company at it's heart ( a mistake IMHO)
