How the heck does one respond to: "I know it's a 2 minute contest: here's a 5 minute track. I poop on your rules!" ?

Certainly I'll omit it from the radio, and it will be disqualified from judging. I suppose the next question is whether to delete it from the voting thread altogether as somehow 'off-topic'. Why not just post straght to the Cafe instead?

It's a good track. Maybe a great track. It's just not a contest track.

Nope. I sang my idea of a polka version of David Bowie's tune Stay to my wife this morning before she got out of bed . . . That put her in a horrible mood right away :-o :(

So, I still have NO ideas.

You can respond with..

Actually, the song was already posted in the cafe, i heard it and suggested he join the contest mixing flamenco with something else.
I was hoping to hear a fresh tune for this contest. :(

A polka version of "Stay" would put me in a great mood.

woah there big fella! didnt mean to rub all you heads the wrong way. u know, sometimes these internet contests the rules are pretty lenient, didnt realize that 2 min really does mean 2 min. Its too bad im heading off to costa rica for a few months on saturday, I would have liked to remix an old flamenco track of mine. sorry about all the confusion, go ahead and delete that post i put in the contest thread. ciao

See that guys? My typing alone shows that I'm a big guy 8)

Maybe next month. Markelford said he may do a flamenco contest where the song can be no less than 10 minutes.

Fritze, what the hell are you doing this time! You made another very special groovy mix-bubble: One more great track here! Did you sing? In some month we'll have a wonderful innovatively eclectic Fiedler cd: Yodeley!
Do you know, folks: We'll have to choose! Isn't there anybody with a really weak entry....por favor?

Thanks dude. Very nice words.

Lucy! You've got some 'splainin' to do.

Okay, I have to say, I played just about every note and all the guitar (through guitar amp pro).

I did use the following apple loops:
Eastern Santoon
Rural Banjo
Club Dance Beat

Also the jewish arabic singing was from a professor (of history, i think).

I used logic and kontact 2 for all orchestral instruments (i wrote the parts :P ).

, oooh almost forgot Ultrbeat:-)

My downstairs neighbor Bill played the bass line for me. He reads music:-) Thanks Bill.

Thanks for all the nice comments S.HUSH, groovesys, mellotronaut, and others.

You guys rock!-)
I'm quite impressed!

As soon as Scoops uploads his song, we will have a very weak entry.

Don't know Robert Johnson (too lazy to Google :hihi: ) but the first thing that jumped into mind was: that sounds like sampled vocals. It might not be in which case I'm quite impressed with the authenticity of it, but if they are sampled....is that allowed? :?

oh btw. I've posted my entry guys. Feel free to (try :hihi: and) pull it apart.
