Good points, Compyfox.

I think most software is really beta-testing in action, isn't it? Look at Native Instruments stuff: buggy as all get out, with fundamental issues that need to be fixed. Instead, you get "new kind-of beat-slicing!!", just in time for NAMM, where the demo is sure to work long enough for the "oohs and aahs".

For the record, I thought SX 1 was a rock-solid v1 technology, coming off of 2 years of hell with Nuendo 1.0-5. What a nightmare that was!

And I still think Cubase takes the lead in many areas; but they were blind-sided by recent innovations like Freeze, which I think improved nicely in the last version. Anyone who thinks Cubase is a hopeless dinosaur, try mixing on Pro Tools LE for a day. It'll remind you just how good we got it with our hosts.

Don't let inadequately tested bloatware do to you what Cubase did to Tina Turner.

Steinberg? Just say no.

Is it there a remote possibility that you get over yourself and stick your head up your ass... or perhaps simply hang on SampCake threads???

:-o

I swear, you are the first person in existance to ever say that!
jeez, man, are you on the pay role off Apple or what??
Why do you think Cube is the most used sequencer in the world??
To indulge the hatry of idiotic morons?

poor little stag. He just isn't equipped with cognitive functions like the rest of us. :(

(sorry mods, I didn't intend to feed him this time. He just reads everything all wrong)

"Cube Hatry"! :-o :dog:

BTW for the guys who say C4 looks or resembles Ableton\Logic:
YOU WISH!!!

oh Kingston, one thing you can bet on: You'll never see my fat ass on Logic\Sonar\Samp threads... even so if i'd droped by i would never say anything about something i don't use, neither on this thread i compare Cubase tio others, i just play with it on a daily basis and enjoy every minute, probably more than "Hate Steinberg Fan Club" members with their thingies.

moron

just for the record stag,

I'm actually "on your team". I've been a Cubase user for god only knows how many years (first used v2.8) and had a good run with logic audio also.

I really don't understand the rest of us forum members can't critically discuss of your beloved host, or take the piss when it feels like it. It's just a f**king tool for the rest of us!

Hey I'm also a Windows XP user! that means I'm even more "on your team". (but hey that doesn't mean I'm on a crusade against Macs.. and why should it)

I just *really* don't understand why absolutely no one can critically speak of these tools that we use, that you so furiously love. There's always you to take a perfectly healthy conversation to straight to hell.

Go away if you,

A) can't understand sarcasm or healthy pisstake
B) can't discuss your goddamn beloved critically

There's no "steinberg hate club" here. There's only you with a mental condition/illness called fanboyism.

Post

Each and every f**king thread with a host name in its title deteriorates into a flame!!! It's infuriating to see dumb antagonistic assholes ruining it for other members and it's hilarious in it's predictability and utter dumbness
It's been like that for years and f**king years ever since I joined here see profile. I'm sorry for you each and every last one who are being taking sides here , haven't been looking who's posted really so I don't insult anyone in particular, thanks for reading this PSA,
peace,

Marco :)

Same here - just fo rthe record, I first used Cubase on an Atari. The last version I actually am a paid owner of is SX1. I still *use* that to some extent in the school where they are on SX1 that I mentioned. I teach in another school where they are on SX3, but I don't get involved in that.

Exactly - but it's not just "stag", as my unfortunate run-in with eric earlier illustrated.

Man critics on SX or else done construtively is positive.
Take apart things just for the sake of it that's another.
If you listen close to my posts here or elsewhere regarding software or anything, i do it with great care, even things i don't like much, because it represent the work of professionals.
Also i think if one thing doesn't work for me most probably i'm not using it rigth.
On Mac threads when the condescending and one sided remarks, transposing word by word the Apple marketing strategy, surfaces why shouldn't i bring on my sarcastic take on the subject???

Sorry to disturb you.

Well, hopefully with more moderators around here, maybe we can clean up a bit. Who knows.

well that eric fella is mostly harmless, but this stag person will generally detoriate any thread to smithereens in no time. You absolute cannot critisise cubase/windows/intel or compare them to anything (unless he approves), and god forbid if you're a mac user! :-o His enternal wrath is upon us.

The problems are most of the users themselves. I mean,I don't have anything against Logic users, or Samplitude users, or whatever. Howit works best for you.

I have something against users however, who're close-minded. Especially that Fruity Loops fraction. I had the best examples while I still was over at OCRemix. Examples? Sure:
- "Fruity Loops is so much more intuitive than Cubase"
- "Fruity Loops sequencer/piano roll is so much better than Cubase's"
- "Fruity Loops owns, everything else sucks"

Such comments go on my nerves. And then if you ask them "well... can you make highend vocals tracks with them", they mute. "can you do video overdubs?!", they mute. "is it capable of Surround?!", they mute.

It might be a good tool. It sure evolved since V2 and V3 (hell even I made 3 tracks with V3.4! Which project files got lost in a HDD crash), can't deny that. There're even some "pro's" out there, who make music with it. But it's still far from the big boys Logic, ProTools and Cubase.

The thing that seems to give the fuel even more is the bundled material. The Sonar Users bash the Cubase users, cause they have Convolution and a Sampler built in. The Sampltude users bash the Cubase users, cause the wav engine has some neat tricks. Or in short: the non Cubase users bash the Cubase users, cause Cubase is pretty much blank, is from Steinberg, has a dongle and the features (compared to the tools of choice) are pretty much crap.

I however as Cubase user say: not really.
It's scary, but I told FL Users (who used this thing longer than I do) how to use the channel strips properly, how the "master out" works and what to do if it clips. I remote controlled the PC of the individual and told him what to do and what not. Same with Logic.. I might not know the hotkeys or the internal engine, but I can use it.

Can you say that for yourself, too? Do you still think that Cubase sucks balls? Read my last post, too. The one I wrote why other tools got so popular.

Be open minded once in a while. And no. I do not work for Steinberg, Apple or any firm that's involved with Cubase.
