Edisson is way cool. For me the only lacking feature is offline applying of FL, VST and DX plugins. That would be awesome. This way I could apply the heavy CPU effects on single drum hits that I just recorded into edisson and then quickly drag the treated audio to a new sampler channel.

Cheers!

That's kind of an oxymoron isn't it? :hihi:
actually, the FL betas have always been pretty stable IIRC.

You can actually do this.
Just load edison in the mixer slot *after* the effects you want to apply to the audio. Press record on edison, trigger the sound you want to process. Drag the contents of edison to a new sampler channel: et voila :)

I use this to freeze my cpu intensive tracks.

Genius!

mmh.. FL has an option to render mixer tracks (& create the audio clip automatically)

well, that's simple enough even I can do it!
marvelous! :D

Gol, would it be difficult to implement a drop down box in the rendering dialog, next to the bit-depth box, to allow selecting the sample rate of the exported loop? Something like this: Image

The current work around for those who want to render at a higher sample rate than the current sample rate consists in saving the current project, set the targeted sample rate in the options and load the project again. The issue is that if your project contains several plugins that take a lot of CPU when idling, you may end up with huge cpu burst that freezes the interface etc...

Using the "smart disable " macro certainly helps but won't work with VST instruments.

All this to say that it would be much simpler if the rendering dialog offered the option.

you can set your soundcard output to none if you want. But I'd advise not to render at another samplerate.

Post

I know you don't recommend it, but it would be less for complete songs than "loops". Some older vst instruments don't offer oversampling and will sound better, or just "different", when oversampled on rendering. In that case, and providing implementing such a functionality is trivial or at least not too complicated, would it be possible to implement it?

Pleeeeeeeeease Gol! You would make many resampling DnB producers really happy :D

it's not. Basically I would do the same as you do manually, save the FLP & reload it. Switching the samplerate of a loaded plugin isn't the best idea.

Post

I see. It's a shame then. How do other hosts do when they offer such a functionality then? Does the rendering process in them implies a reload of the whole project in background or just forcing the new sample rate on the plugins that are already loaded?

Post

I don't know

Post

thanks for your answers anyway. Setting the soundcard output to "none" should do the trick. I hope you'll consider adding such a feature again, some day:)
