Laguna Rising And here I believe we have the first of the much dreaded happy hard-code tunes? Actually, it's not all that obnoxious. But happy it is!

offthewall A charming electric jig, but not really very speedy.

Navij11 Serious rumbling there. Somehow I feel cognitive dissonance between the 1-minute form and this sort of electronic track. I mean, you're barely getting going.

spirulence Yowza! That's seriously uptempo. I dig.

t00nz Good interpretation of the theme. Sounds good too.

Jerru That's a surprisingly well-rounded song to fit in one minute. Coolness.

donkey tugger A familiar sound, enjoyable as always. And it's good to have a slow song in this playlist.

DeepEddieZilker Aren't you supposed to supply direct download links? I almost missed your track, since I downloaded the html file. Anyway, nice bit of psychedelica. Which is one second over the limit.

Aziraphal that's a wild cover! None of the sugar, all of the drama.... Oh wait, it's probably not a cover. Cool, though.

davebv I like the simultaneous going up in speed and pitch.

Barnadine Cute, and a lot of music in only 30 seconds.

jwatte Cool track, but doesn't it get over 120bpm?

funkychickendance Fun electronics. The "real" drum is kind of an odd choice with it, though well programmed.

Emerald Tablet In the blurb-to-music ratio, you win. Well programmed track. I really like this one.

Polite Company I think I recognize that. From Mettle? I find the drums a bit incongruous with the electronics.

VicDiesel Brilliant. Just brilliant.

oddbod Fun track and good sounding arrangement. Creative use of natural sounding instruments. Cool.

DrApostropheX Oh, mr SuperToilet, deliver us from the evil Dr PooPoo! Wacky.

keyman_sam I'm amazed how many people actually can fit a bridge section into a 1 minute song. Nice.

VicDiesel wrote:Psy-T Definitely energetic. Oh now I get it, if you want a longer dance track, you simply loop that one minute.
while i did intend a few of my songs in these contests to be listened to in a loop, it's not really the case with this one.
thanks for the feedback. :)

shrikantprabhu Interesting soundscape, but it doesn't feel terribly fast to me.
Thanks :D

Reviews:

Keyman_sam: Ends abruptly as if the song has been cutoff which means it may have been an older tune? If I am wrong, great!
ANyhow....DnB is a typical submission for this month's theme so I'll just say A+ on writing and a big fat F- for originality.

Dr AX: No speed detected.

Oddbod: It's nice and i can sense the speed (a bit). It just sounds like a jingle for Ragu spaghetti sauce or some other commercial. :hihi:

Vicdiesel: The theme is "speed" not "chaos in the jungle".

Polite company: This sounds a bit too amateurish. Granted, a lot of submissions here end up sounding amateurish but this is a bit much. The drums sound like a 9 year old in a music shop jamming away after 2 lessons and the arp sounds like a preset in a Circuit City casio synth.

Emerald Tablet: Yeah it's fast but it's missing something to give it a full sense of speed. What exactly that is i am unsure.

Funkychickendance: Song plays for less than a second. Too tired to retry...sorry.

jwatte:Asks me to download....no thanks. Only direct links that work with Quicktime.

Barnadine: No speed detected.

davebv:Asks me to download...shall not!

aziraphal: This sounds like a demo for a Roland synth in some Roland seminar. The speed bit is way too short to consider this on topic with the theme.

DeepEddieZilker: No direct link= Me no listen.

Donkey Tugger: No speed detected.

Jerru: It's a rock song with the snare being hit hard. woo hoo. No sense of speed.

Toonz: gee..let's automate the BPM in our sequencer and make it go faster and faster. How original. I wonder how many more of these I'll have to endure.

Spirulence: Ah yes.....another original idea for speed....ABBA...or is it Gabba? Or is it Arby's? Good job implementing but a face smack for originality.

Navij11: Oh wow! DnB...finally something original!!!!
Yes...I am being sarcastic.

offthewall: Asking me to download...

Laguna Rising: Did i leave my SEGA system on???
I guess it's fast??? I personally fail to sense it here.

Max El Belga: It's crazy loop madness which sounds like a prog jam BUT (and it's a very big but Max)....No speed detected...

Folderol: "Not so fast" is right.

shrinkant: Oh c'mon guys!!! Where in the hell is the SPEED in this????? Sure it may be a fast BPM but at least give some indication that there is speed going on....sheesh.
Lovely day today innit? :D

Patrick9 More DnB like stuff. Tsk Tsk...I've got my eye on you Patrick......

IXOX: :hihi: This song actually made me giggle. I like it. I sense no speed but it's a funny tune. I just noticed the title too...haha.

GAG3: Ok, i sense a bit of speed here. It sounds like Satriani back in high school jamming for his prog rock geeks.

me109: Nice jazz tune BUT (and it's a big fat huge but mr me one hundred and nine)....everybody say it with me......
NO SPEED DETECTED!!!!

Echo Voodoo: Ah good ol Bo Diddley. You know, it would have been better if you would have sped it up even more. That would have been hilarious.

Mellotronaut: This is one really bizarre tune mello. I like the abrupt ending on this one. It works. I sense no speed though. I sense more of a chaotic mish mesh of moosh. :hihi: I honestly do like it though. I'd be honest and tell you if it sucked. Like Echo Voodoo's stuff.

Core: FIle not found....

Jack Solium: Ooo...kewl! Drums seem just a tad behind but i dig. SOunds great for Sunday church.

Zombie Queen: It sounds like geisha's slam music.

m luhtala: no speed detected

chris walton: It's DnB ish but it has stringed instruments and xylo which makes it nice. TOo short arkey arke.

streifentier: i sense no speed here mr Stripe! Shame on you for disappointing me. ME!!!!! Do you know who ME is????? MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

fartlukar: asks me to download. How dare you!!

nikp2000: Now a train concept is cool for speed but i sensed no speed. You should have just put up a recording of a train speeding by.

beanpole: eh...i guess it's fast but i dunno. SOmething fails to grab me. Maybe it's the accordion?

Cyrosis: fast piano playing. it's an acquired taste.

psy t: you should have made the arp go 1/32. That would have given it an even more sense of speediness.

Ok...all done. YOu can shower me with all your hate now. :D

Maybe I consider 180bpm fast because I was built for comfort and not for speed. :D

See guys? Let shrikant be an example of how to take my reviews lightly like any real man would. I say shrikant should win this month.

Nice weather here and i love this wonderful beer (also enjoyed the belgian ones a lot!) ... visit my brother now with all his incredible hardware-synths ... what a sound ... played on his Polysix yesterday ... blows the software-version away, really ... he has about 20 gems from the 70's (yamaha CS70) up to a Roland V-Synth ... mmmyammiii!
