Hey, we haven't seen the Group Buy order link for some time, so here it is for your convenience:
http://esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2034
A new goal has been set for 200 users. The previous highest level was at 150 users for an end price of $239. The new goal is more ambitious, but as a reward, the package will cost only $199 if we reach 200. Sign up now, and back out without risk or penalty if your desired price level is not reached.
Feel free to add zombywoof as a reference, and we both get $5 in ePointz credits for downloadable sounds. As a bonus, I can claim that I am alone directly responsible for the success of this group buy.
Sign up today...this deal is the cow's bollocks!

I recently read Geoff Emerick's book "Here, There, and Everywhere". He mentions several times about Ringo's dislike of playing solo's. If Ken Scott comes out with a book it will make a great companion book.
I recommend Emerick's book just on the value that it tells you a lot about how many of the Beatles recording decisions were "left" to the engineers and "lucky" accidents. It clearly shows how the engineer's creative abilities combined with careful breaking of established rules (mic placement, over-loading amps, set up of drums, etc.) helped shape the sound of modern rock music.

Temporary lock while I do some cleaning up.
[edit] Righty, 7 pages split, leaving 11 pages. There's some useful info in the split-off thread so don't think it's all dross. Just impossible to refine further.
Unlocking and possibly moving the thread. Pardon the delay.

The thread has been moved to our company forum where we will unfortunately have to be more strict about people disrupting the group buys. To be democratic about it we'll go by what the group wants. If the group says you're out then you're out. Sorry. Posts will be modified or deleted if necessary. Please read our company forum rules which are different than KVR's.
There's a new Sherrif in town and he draws with tentacles so beware.
Now let's try to keep this thing fun. There's less than a week left and we want to give you the chance to get the best possible deal. Let us know if the group buy thread isn't going how you want it and we'll do our best. It's YOUR thread to use for YOUR benefit, not just ours. GOOD LUCK!

... and it will be more clear about some things that Ken feels were remembered incorrectly in that book. The main thing is that he says Geoff dramatizes the Fab Four as being sort of jerks a lot of the time whereas Ken said they were no more so than any other band that had its up and down moments in the studio. Ken was clear about not wanting publishers involved in what the book says so nothing is "sensational" to sell copies. It's just the real stories as best everyone can remember it.Murky wrote:I recently read Geoff Emerick's book "Here, There, and Everywhere". That said, there are some crazy stories I've heard. Not sure if they'll all make it in the book. We're visiting Abbey Road next week to look in "the vault". Can't wait. I'll take lots of pics. Visiting Trident Studios as well.

It's at 89 now.
11 more to the next level, looking great.
Then a 100 more for $199, don't miss that one!
200 can be done easy, what a price

Well HELLO everybody!
Good to see you all again.
Nice to be back.
So, since I've been gone, this transformed from an amazing deal into an incredibly amazing deal. 2 bills at the highest level for these 2 amazing IK plugs plus the loop package!? Get outta town!
So, just to recap, if you join now, AND YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND LATER, no harm no foul. No money changes hands and you can walk away if the numbers don't wind up where you want them. But I don't think that'll happen. So sign up and drive the numbers up.
And, while you're at it, feel free to recommend any of the fine folks on this thread, like alogie, zombywoof, harmonygardens, telebunke, or, yes, even me--berfab. You'll get a nice $5 bump in epointz just for doing it.
C'mon. You know you want to...
Cheers

I'm halfway into "Recording the Beatles" by Brian Kehew (and someone I can't remember right now).
Fantastic read. I've read Emerick's book as well, fun but a bit grandiose on his part I guess.
George Martin's "All you need is Ears" is cool as well.
Now, is there something like it for the Bonham?
Oh, "Temples of Sound" and Peter Guralnick's story of soul are great, too.

A bit different, but I'm reading Clapton's autobiography right now which is very good. The insider stuff on his relationship with the Beatles, Harrison, and how he recorded various bits on their records is fascinating (to me at least). Not a recording how-to, but a great memoir that really reads like fiction.
