Why is Sonar still treated like the underdog?

Why are the underdogs at KVR still so amazingly stupid and ridiculous? Is it an innate ability? Culture? Lack of nursery? Lack of education? Effects of misguided learning? Are they doing it on purpose? Are they genetically sensitive to pollution? Do any of you believe they are actually musicians and not just self-twisted twats who cannot even troll properly? Is there any cure?

My guess is that neverfall lives in an alternate universe where the words on the posts we make are re-arranged in a random order. Also, it's considered l33t to CAPITALIZE words for NO reason at ALL. And they probably have animals that have wheels instead of feet there*.Hskovlund wrote:Why are the underdogs at KVR still so amazingly stupid and ridiculous? Is it an innate ability? Culture? *bonus rep points for anyone who got the Pullman reference before I pointed it out in this footnote. Or wheelnote, in neverfall's universe.

1: I have never used Sonar. I have never even tried it.neverfall wrote:

Yes...I do expect you to completely ignore this question or answer it as best feminine as you can.
2: You don't ask valid questions. You taunt people.
3: You are the most annoying kvr member EVER. Starting with all of the Omnisphere threads, where you happily taunted people for being poor, to this thread, where you taunt people for their choice of host.
And it's not even witty taunting. It's almost like Boomer Esiason decided to become a kvr member.
In any case, it is long since past the time when I should have muted you.
It's been nice knowing you.

My god, what a thread. Is there someone who has any clue about how Sonar sells, compared to Cubase or Logic or Ableton maybe? I already asked this at page 5, before the KVR war began. Not that it is that important, but I just wanted to know if Sonar sells well. Some older version I read about had quite superb effects bundled with it, from sonic timeworks and many more.

Klemperer: I use it, but I only found out about it via KVR of all places. In the United Kingdom, Cakewalk really don't have a visible presence. Certainly, I don't recall ever going into somewhere like SoundControl on the highstreet and seeing SONAR there. It was mostly Steinberg and has stayed pretty much the same. I did, however, see a copy of Home Studio in the local PC World, so perhaps the bakers are making inroads. Anyway, the only people over here I've spoken to who know who Cakewalk are tend to be American students I've spoken to.
[EDIT - actually, I'm pretty sure there was a website that had Cakewalk listed as a company and showed their gross income figures. I'll see if I can find it again.]

Yeah I tried a demo of Sonarse 7 on my lappy not so long ago during a dongle hating episode...
Everytime I try something else I go running back to Cubarse (and its dongle) after I once again realise just how damn solid it is.. (for me at least)...

I started using Sonar because I wanted to get started, a friend had it, and could show the how to begin.
I stuck with it.
After a while I decided it would be "convenient" to be like everyone else, and use PT. But then I saw I would have to reinstall all my VST's as RTAS.
Just lately I am getting a bit fed up of Sonar again (Sonar 7) - you never know what level its going to export audio at (apart from it'll be less than the track you're exporting). A known problem, that everybody has, that dosn't get fixed from the one update to the next.
So I'm looking at Reaper - I liked the idea of having a complete DAW on a USB stick. However - it is just so irritating having to look up how to do everything, when I have everything at my fingertips in Sonar.
So I'll probably stick with Sonar - just because I know it well.
I guess that goes for most people and most DAWs.

You should neverfall back on logic like that, it'll get you angry responses!
Anyway I could queuebasic jokes like this all day, but I'll leave, sonarky posters won't have me respond to them anymore. No names.
