Getting major stuck notes, and once reopening a project, the presets weren't saved right...edit: I just reopened the last project and there's no sound at all coming from any instance of Galileo.
I'm running a core 2 duo and 3.25 gigs ram.

Such a shame! I'm having a lot of fun with this one before it goes nuts on my computer!

edit: ok, now I've had it, another crash..sorry Max, your cool plug doesn't like my computer!

Post

I'm also about to give up after a night of FL crashes. I'm on dual core too, wonder if that could be the problem. Tattie's single core and it works.
For now I'm out of this....damn shame. Hope things will happen :?

Post

OK, just repeated the tests with the new version, and alls well!

So, with the mac lads excluded, and the dual core PCers out of the way, I have three weeks to write half a dozen tracks, and scoop all the prizes! :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

... seriously though, its just as easy for me to launch a Felix comp, and we can go with Galileo next if Max is able to fix the prob.

Alternatively, I've read stuff about dual core issues on here and I seem to remember theres a workaround.

Lets hear ye guys ... Felix? workaround?

Post

I'm just not sure what issues are dual core and which issues are Cubase 5...the no sound on output problem I've had with the Tal Elec7ro challenge once in a while..so maybe that's just a cubase issue, but no vst has ever crashed cubase like Galileo has, in fact it wouldn't even let me open Cubase.exe at one point..I had to delete Galileo from my vst folder, open a cubase project file that didn't contain Galileo, then from there close that project and open up the Galileo project.

Post

Yeah, I've had the 'no sound' issue in cubase many times before .... it's usually a case of reselecting the audio driver. I find this only happens when the cpu is taking a hammering though!

Post

Submissions folder cleared for new comp.

Here's the link to previous OSC tracks and info... http://www.4shared.com/dir/15659507/e5f ... racks.html

OK, Its late here, so I'm gonna hold off launching the next comp at least for tonight.
I expect I'll launch a Felix comp tomorrow ... with the same closing date. That's still a tad more than 3 weeks, which is kinda standard.
K-Bee, slugfest and MadPsyance, thanks for flagging up the issues with galileo ... particularly as this info came about via your enthusiasm to get going with the comp at such an early stage :tu: .... I hope you can shake off your disappointment and participate in the new comp

Anyway, I'm gonna load up Felix and get a few sounds together after I've edited my draft launch post.... and then it'll be bedtime I suppose!

Catch ye all either in the next hour, or tomorrow :)

Post

OK, Felix has passed the acid test of OSCing ... great kick! ... only took about an hour, with the help of Blockfish it must be said! ....
So before I hit the sack, just wanna say the Felix comp will be launched tomorrow ( today! :hihi: ) ... permitted fx is gonna be a fairly liberal arrangement!
Feel free to get your 2/100 of your familiar currency in though cos its a strange kind of Saturday ... like I dont have a gig, and my football team got so badly shafted on Thursday ( 8 - 1 on fkn aggregate!! :-o  )I doubt if my ears will spend their usual afternoon glued to the radio! :(

Post

So Felix it is then? God, I really hope this works properly all the way. After yesterday's "Crash Night" I'm not feeling particularly lucky today. :( :hihi:

Post

Sorry guys for the crash, never happened before. I'll try to understand what's wrong.

In the meantime good luck with the OSC7 and have fun! ;)

Huhu! I'm back from holiday 8) (Sun, ocean and...... some serious sunburn *ouch!*) And...i...I...won?
Wheeeeeeeee! Wooow. :violin: :band: :band: :band: :band2: :band2: :band2:

Thanks to all voters!
Congrats to you tattiemannie!
And congrats to all the other submiters!
And of course thanks for all the nice prices!!

So...awww... a lot of pages since i went to holiday. A lot to read (i of course red it all), but i'm still not "really" clear about how things are going now. ^.-
So can someone repost the "state of actual prizes etc" (whaa, feels like bad english) ore PM me please. :(

Edit:...i read Sylenth somewhere i think  but, since i don't have it... awww...

Thanks for sticking with it anyway Max. I just PM'd you with my set up information but I see far more information in the posts above to work with as well.

All very strange! I hope you get to the bottom of it as I rather like the little beastie. 8)

So, Felix it is. I'd already started work on that - so on with the show... :D

As a quick answer to Tattie, nope, didn't see any need to sample Galileo when working with it and have a 75% functional kick without to much spilt blood.

I'd also apply the same to Felix and limit us to the usual array of permitted freebie effects - delay, reverb, EQ. I'm also likely to throw in some chorus as well but I promise it will be fairly subtle

In otherwords - should be pretty standard OSC ideals.

Many thanks,
Mouxbar

Post

OK, thanks for that Mouxbar, I'm all but done with the launch post, ( for Major B's benefit, that's a midgie's wing an' hawf a' ba'hair awa! :hihi: )

MA-Simon, I'll PM you re. your choice of prize! ... congrats again :)

Yep, I know about the dualcore issues, anyway I'm on a dualcore too and here anything is working fine on Sonar6 (had the opportunity to test it also in Nuendo1.5, Energy, Fruity Loops3, CubaseSX3). I can reproduce the problem with a FL5 demo I have, but I have no chance to test it in Cubase5.

So the problems are with FL and Cubase 5 on dualcore.

This is the right moment to test the new beta version of SE, hope to solve the problem, otherwise there are a zillion synths to have fun with for the next comps! :D

Cheers,

Max
