Forget that. The plugin itself lets you balance dry/wet according to your needs. Lose/keep as much punch as you want. Where's the problem?audiodob wrote:fr4ncesco wrote:another example
Plucks&DLA
here are two synths, each with its own NastyDLA setting (different delay modes and times), after a few bars I automated the feedback and the "color" parameter for both instances
btw, here is the dry part
I was referring to this post and the example posted by fr4ncesco. clearly the punch is lost in this example.

that is just one example, more texture-oriented
consider that the dry/wet balance was not touched at all during the feedback automation
in any case, the only way to form your own opinion is to try the plugin yourself, without relying exclusively from the usage made by other people

Got my bass out for once and got funky. Used Nasty DLA to create the dubbyness you hear.

just had a quick play around recording some automations of nasty dla on uh-e's ACE synth in reaper.. Boy it really adds another dimension to the sound.. i had a ping pong setting and was adjusting the feedback and delay 1and2 sync buttons
This is gonna get used a bit i think!

hmm, i seem to get a bit of fuzzy, not so nice, distortion when the chorus is on sometimes.. anyone else?
edit.. just noticed bootsie's earlier post about it
having trouble re-creating it now, but it seemed to be on 'dual-mono' setting.
older acer centrino laptop, win xp, reaper.

I made a mapping for the Novation SL boards so you get that hardware feel

Hi,
Tried out Nasty DLA, amazing sound, but I'm noticing weird CPU spikes, jumps from 2% up to 20% all of a sudden, anyone else experiencing this?
/S
edit: After a bit of headscratching, this is what I experience: As long as
nasty DLA is processing audio or has audio coming in pretty soon, CPU stays
at around 2-3%. If no audio is being processed, the CPU gradually rises up
to about 20% and stays there until more audio is fed through the plugin, then the CPU goes back down to 2%.
edit: dualcore 2.8GHz, winXP sp2, reaper

snoddas - I am on a Windows7 laptop with an i3 CPU and i have not noticed any spikes but sometimes inside Ableton Live 8 the GUI takes a little longer to open and/or close (this sometimes messes around with the CPU meter but only very briefly and at low buffer settings on my interface like 64 & 126). I have not yet tried NastyDLA on my proprer audio/DAW machine since it is going through a big re-install (that one is running Win XP Pro SP3 FWIW). I have tried NastyDLA with FXpansion VST To RTAS adaptor inside PT with no problems also. It might be worth mentioning the issue at Variety Of Sound including your host and all the settings...etc. and such since no doubt someone will have had the same problem/noticed that using a similar setup man...Hope that helps
Been using NastyDLA on clean electric guitar with superb results and also some high-gain lead also and it is very good for both, used subtley i must add due to not wanting to sound so much like 80's hair metal (however i think a). This processor does not have that sort of sterile OTT junk flavour to it and b). I am tuned way down low for that anyway!
).
Honestly i rarely use modulation on my electric guitar, however this along with TAL Chorus-60 (that does the 80's thing to some degree if i am not careful) is an exception (along with and up there with the SoundToys native bundle)
me some Nasty
Cheers
