/ Sorry, end rant.
to be fair, in the UK we call it a MOOG . big phat MOOOOOG
Your using the German Pronounciation.
Dr. Robert Moog:
It rhymes with "vogue." That is the usual German pronunciation.[2] My father's grandfather came from Marburg, Germany. I like the way that pronunciation sounds better than the way the cow's "moo-g" sounds
In a deleted scene from the DVD version of the documentary Moog, Moog describes the three pronunciations of the name Moog: the Dutch /moːɣ/, which he believes would be too demanding of English speakers; the preferred Anglo-German pronunciation, /moʊɡ/; and a more anglicized pronunciation, /muːɡ/. Moog reveals that some of his family members prefer the anglicized pronunciation, while others, including himself (and his wife) prefer the Anglo-German pronunciation.
Each to their own, i say
Best
Rob

Actually 'Mogue' is not entirely correct either.Astronaut59 wrote:Also, it is pronounced like "Mogue", rhymes with "Vogue" (not "Mooooooooog" like a cow![]()
(Moog merely preferred it to the 'cow'.)
If you want to pronounce Moog 100% correctly then you have to pronounce the two O like in Torn, Borg, Gorge, Corn, Door, etc.
That is how Moog is pronounced in german.

The words themselves are unimportant, they are merely examples for how you are supposed to pronounce the two O in Moog.
Other examples would be Gordon, Lord, Forge, Norton, Horn, and so forth.
To make it real simple: Take the word DOOR, Replace the D with an M and the R with a G and you have the german pronounciation of MOOG.

How can it spell 'morg' when i told you to replace the R with a G?parry316raver wrote:that spells morg to me and pronounced morgue.
Last try:
DOOR
↓↓↓↓↓↓
MOOG
Now pronounce the two O in MOOG like you would pronounce the two O in DOOR.
If that still spells 'morg' to you then im afraid i cant help...

When is this demo supposed to be released? I got an e-mail from Sonic Academy about how the promo price has 3-days left, but without a demo, that seems wildly unfair.

ENV1 - where are you from? I wonder if this is an issue with accents, as I'm getting the exact same result as parry following your instructions - that it would be pronounced 'Morg'.
(I've pronounced it 'Mogue' as in 'vogue' ever since I saw Bob Moog himself on TV say his own name like that)
