From my user account, it was something like 29% discounted, I guess that's due to the other Fabfilter Plugs I own.

OMG. Love, love LOVE this effect! There has been a serious lack of pro-quality multiband distortions, and this is the solution. So easy to use and get sounding good immediately. Wow...I must find funds for this...

One question for bManic (or others): isn't there a way to solo individual bands?

I dont know if it can compete with Ohmicide on the dirtier end in the long run,
I agree. Ohmicide is still more versatile when it comes to "whacky" and weird brutal distortion. It has many more distortion modes but the interface is a bit too crowded and confusing in my opinion. I still use it a lot and ohmicide has been one of our "secret weapons" in the studio for quite a while.

I think Saturn actually complements it very well.

It's also good to remember just how good a dynamics processor the thing is! You can easily create some dynamic EQ and multiband compression stuff.

Simply modulating the dynamic knob with an envelope follower makes for some extremely interesting results.

Cheers!

I don't think there is. It was mentioned during the beta but probably was forgotten/went unnoticed with the massive feedback the plugin got (and tons of other wishes)! I'm sure they'll add that option if there is enough requests for it.

A workaround which is pretty fast to do is to simply select all bands (drag that rectangle around all bands volume handles) then drag down all band volume and then drag up the volume of the band you are interesting in listening to. The downside is that you loose the relative volume differences of each band so a true solo option would indeed be much better. You could of course use the A/B copy button at the top before you do this to easily A/B the soloed band and the previous setting where everything is unmuted.

Anyhow, I think they should add a true solo for each band. Not sure why it wasn't ever added. :(

Or then I've missed something obvious. :)

EDIT: There are a few clever shortcuts to things. If you ALT-Drag a band's volume handle you can adjust all bands at the same time. If you CTRL-Drag a handle you'll actually change the band's drive knob and if you CTRL+ALT-Drag a handle you'll adjust all band's drive knob, keeping relative differences intact. You can also alt-drag any modulation slot thing to affect all the modulation slots from a modulator at the same time.

Cheers!

Hey, thanks man! Good idea with the A/B, that had just occurred to me too. But I agree: a true solo is crucial for a plug-in like this. Getting the perfect sound sometimes rests on mere decimal points of movement, would be a shame to mess it up! I'm just a stickler; I need to hear what's going on in that band, too. :hihi:

Seems like they have plenty of real estate near the bypass & save buttons. Where's the best place to send a feature request to FabFilter?

Just check out what kind of compression is possible. This is just insanely awesome!

Drumloop, Saturn compressing like a mofo!

Made this preset in less than 2 minutes. This is pure bliss!

AWESOME.

I'm freaking out. I love using this as an EQ and a saturator...and a compressor! AGH!  :help:

Have to say, I really love this plugin. The coloring is wonderful and the automation makes for some fertile effects :)

Thanks for the post some nice things going on in the drums.

Anyone got any comparissons with these vs KushAudios UBK-1 please :) I own a license but no vst yet and no mac, so waiting on the release. The reports of the UBK are very positive and so I am sure we will see/hear the same for FFs latest offerring.

Like to hear some comparissons vs other saturator/compressors as I know there's a lot of fanboys for fabfilter on kvr (including me).

I have both demos right now. I could compare the two, but they're quite different beasts...
