So... How long will the beta-testing run ?
Hopefully all the bugs will be sorted out during the beta-phase, and Bitwig Studio will be released sometime in July, or August (the latest).
Looking forward to become a Bitwig Studio user.

Mid-August sounds about right to me as a wild guess, at the earliest. I'd be a little surprised if they beta tested less than 60 days with so much riding on a solid release and so many instruments and plugs out there to test.Muziksculp wrote:So... How long will the beta-testing run ?

But then again, they've been sitting on it for a long time so maybe it's pretty solid already, who knows? Fun to speculate anyway.

My personal request: do not shake hands with Akai (or other corporations) against the users. Not that I think you would, but stay away from practices of dinosaurs such as Ableton.
Maximum integration with existing midi devices (something like farmpad for korg padkontrol) and keyboard (including such functions as open VST gui) will give you a firm foothold in the game.
And please do a market research concerning the name of the program. Let users say, if they like it.
fingers crossed!!!

Not that this is up to us, but +1. There are some hardware companies I hope Bitwig should stay far away from.TOTAL wrote:My personal request: do not shake hands with Akai (or other corporations) against the users. With most NDA's they would not be allowed to say even if they were.SonnyBonnier wrote:No one at KVR has tested the Beta yet?

No NDA can stop a leak from some any anonymous source. I'm sure, there is no beta out yet.aMUSEd wrote:With most NDA's they would not be allowed to say even if they were.SonnyBonnier wrote:No one at KVR has tested the Beta yet?

Yeah, please don't give us a very simple comprehensive way of integrating new controller hardware with your software. Don't be like those dinosaurs, use something modern like basic MIDI.TOTAL wrote:My personal request: do not shake hands with Akai (or other corporations) against the users. Not all NDA's are identical. Like any other written agreement, it really depends on what's in it exactly.Lump wrote:No NDA can stop a leak from some any anonymous source. Some NDA's specifically allow talking about the existence of an ongoing beta program and your participation in it, and nothing else. All of them prohibit giving out specific details about the application being tested, posting pictures, etc, etc.
So an NDA actually may not prohibit, and directly allow, saying "Yeah, I'm testing it... but I can't give you any details about it." Others prohibit any mention of it at all.
The only important part is the "D", disclosing details. The other part is known, that somebody is testing it somewhere. Restricting talking about that part is most likely just removing any temptation from people who'll keep asking for details in PM's or whatever... promising not to tell... etc.
