thats what I get in the shop. But on the main page it specifically gives pricing for "Upgrade to Live 9 Suite" and "Upgrade to Live 9 Standard".SLiC wrote:I think it says bat is for a new (second) licence rather than for converting/ upgrading your existing licence?
An idiot on Set Theory:

Mine says that too. I never went with v.8 from v.7 + Sampler, and both standard and suite will be a free up to v.9.aMUSEd wrote:Me neither but it definitely said upgrade and get 9 suite free when it's out so they had better stand by that.Goseba wrote:I just upgraded from 8 to Suite but don't see any reference to 9 Suite in my account. Anyone else see a reference to 9 yet?colinssx wrote:Holy shit, I bought Live 8 Suite like a week ago and the site now says I have Live 9 Suite. I was worried I would get screwed on that one.
Ableton
(had been thinking of either Suite or M4L anyway).

YES!wantoo wrote:If anyone like me has just purchased 8 suite (literally this past weekend), I called this morning and was told that I would qualify for the free upgrade to 9... He said anyone that has purchased in the past month if I understood correctly would have this upgrade available for free.

I emailed them about this too, although they are probably getting enough mail about it alreadywhyterabbyt wrote:seriously stupid way of doing things; they offer a 'custom upgrade price dependent on what you own' which it turns out isnt actually an upgrade price dependent on what we own. FFS, again.
so what they're saying is that we wont know if we're getting a decent upgrade price for Suite 8->Suite 9 for 3 or 4 months?? and meanwhile the misleadinglt higher 'best upgrade offer' price is still on the website? huh?

It's a new strategy, you're supposed to haggle. work for that price!Guenon wrote:I mean, if it asks me to log in and then says "your best upgrade offer: 199e", it kind of gives the impression of being... my best upgrade offer.

Another new strategy seems to be "play hide and seek to notice that the company actually has any forums." There's no link to the Ableton Forum anywhere on the new site. When asked about it, this was the answer:
"we removed the link to the forum as people weren't really using it. The majority of forum users get here either via Google search or via a bookmark link."
Must be a joke? Although to the multiple questions in the vein of "Are you serious?" the answer was "No, really, it's just a change. Thanks for your feedback - we'll take it into account." Is that guy really an Ableton representative?

I'm thinking... my Spark. Maybe Analog Lab, too.V0RT3X wrote:Now I can't wait to see what's going to be sold in the market place for "low" prices because people are desperate for Live 9 and push.

Where are you seeing this? I own live 8 suite and max for live and I don't see an upgrade price..LFO8 wrote:Exactly. That would be cheaper in the end. I own Live 8 now. It would cost me 129,- Euro's to upgrade to Live 9 later.Darknesslord wrote:Now I must save my money and save for the upgrade to Suite
OR I can pay 179,- Euro's now for an upgrade to Suite 8 and get Suite 9 for free later AND get the new Max 4 Live free!

you have to log in to your account and they'll tell you your upgrade price.
my guess is it's $234

Even though Push looks awesome in every way I've seen thus far, I intend to make one of these before Live-9 comes out.

That M4L comes with Live-9 Suite now, is a real plus.
