Fyi the argument about having a ton of sound libraries is not that great of an argument considering the limitations of it's architecture.

My post was slightly sarcastic, but;C-note wrote:So, if we take into account just the list above, not counting all the other great artists using it, you do not see the appeal of Sylenth1 in todays market?ftech wrote:I am unsure as to whether this is an argument for or against Sylenth.C-note wrote:The appeal of Sylenth1 is huge in todays market. Pick almost any song in any genre's top 10 and you will hear Sylenth1 used on that track. Artists like Martin Garrix, Avicii, Claude Von Stroke, Steve Aoki, Project 46, Electronic Youth, Markus Shulz, Matrix and Futurebound, Worthy, Chicane, Little Wayne,Drake, Paul Okenfold and many more all use Sylenth1.ausgeno wrote:...
Not sure why people are so hung up on Sylenth, it was a great plug when it came out in 2007 but I don't see the appeal in todays market...
There is no doubt that Sylenth has its appeal..to certain users, which your list reinforces.
Implying that your list is of 'great artists' is quite subjective though, there would be just as many people that would discount Sylenth on the basis you are championing it through their own preference, whether that is personal or artistic.
I have owned, and sold, Sylenth. It does what it does well, no argument there, just wasn't appropriate to my needs.

sylenth1 is sylenth1. personally, really loved using it. but other newer plugins more than make up for it (i abandoned it when logic X came out, and there was no 64bit S1...i know about the later-released 32lives...).
spire more than fills the gap. dune2 helps. others as well. plus, i don't need to replace it EXACTLY, i just need awesome-sounding tools. and there are LOTS of great synth plugins to choose from.

Not sure if we authorized their use of a Diva screenshot, let alone "simulating" her. I guess this goes to our lawyer asap.Alchemist12 wrote:was also searching for a Sylenth1 64-bit alternative .... this sounds awesome

Huh? - I think this is the boldest thing I've seen in this business, pretty much ever.kurodo wrote:From your humble beginnings you've changed Sir.Urs wrote:

No-one understands the urge to mention other brand names to sell the own stuff more than me. As much as I would have liked to, we have never blatantly mentioned any product we used for "inspiration" in our advertisement. It just feels wrong to me.

Their dropdown list also shows "Bazille, Zebra, Dark Zebra, and... Zebralette."Urs wrote:Not sure if we authorized their use of a Diva screenshot, let alone "simulating" her. But maybe before the bully boy tactics a simple email would have sufficed?
If anyone should be running to their lawyers it should be Lennard himself.
Spare a thought for that guy on the one hand he has producers actively using cracked copies of his software and on the other certain developers emulating his great work
Know what I mean?

Urs hasn't copied sylenth1 he hasn't even named it as the one he based HIVE on just some very loose clues. It is based on its sound but not fully it has more to its oscillators and different filters . Urs isn't using the name to sell HIVE. It's a big no no in business using the names of others products to sell your own thats why Urs is mad.
Things get a bit cloudy when selling samples of synthesizers and simulating synthesizers that are no longer made.

The fact that you've replied without me ever mentioning the fact that Urs copied Sylenth speaks volumes.Kaboom75 wrote:Urs hasn't copied sylenth1 he hasn't even named it as the one he based HIVE on just some very loose clues. Please go away I am sick of the constant UHE propaganda that abounds KVR.
It seems like every thread centers around UHE and anyone that dares to voice an opinion is shot down.
All I was saying is if there is a problem a simple email would have probably done the trick.

No point in Urs sending them an email until he's consulted his legal advisor. I'm sure it will be polite advice to start with. I'm also a big propaganda Lizard shapeshifter of Spectrasonics, Soundtoys, Valhalla DSP, DMG AUDIO, Slate Digital, Togu Audio Line, Cytomic.
By the way the thread topic is "Sylenth1 Awesome Alternatives?"
Urs just brought out a new synth beta specialising in supersaw and low CPU. Sylenth1 is this so was Roland JP-8000 from 1997 and many others.

Can you show me any examples of where users on KVR that support UHE products have been called names? (without the dogs being called out)
If so I could probably buy into the idea that UHE in some way is being victimized on KVR.
UHE and KVR victimization is a oxymoron.
