i just know, one day u-he will jump in to pro tools arena  :o

How did a beta version end up in the hands of a software pirate?

Do you watermark in some fashion to find the mutineer? If not have you considered it for the future?

Personally, I like to try a VST without any limit of time or noises.
I understand that U-he can't afford to make that, and you (U-he) also give some nice freeware for those that can't afford to buy your software, as I already stated.

Warez is wrong, and people that constantly use it are only supporting those crackers instead of the developers that spend a lot of time and energy to create those things that some people take it for granted!!!!
Come on gentleman, nearly every informed citizen knows that even big recording studios use cracked copies of software. Why? Because they keep them under their desks in cases of loss of the original paid versions (=hassling protections).

ariston wrote: octopuss, it still sounds fishy, no matter how you phrase it. Using a crack to "test software" is still using a crack.
:hihi: It depends on how good the crack is done!
Why not testing a demo-version first? The best software I bought was based on my experiences made with demos. What I really liked was Native Instruments very generous approach. They let you use their instruments full, with the only limitation of a 30 minutes usage time. That was splendid, so then i decided to buy the package! And I'm still convinced that it's the best way to let people test software. :tu:
