Is anyone else having problems with this thing? Orion is muting the songs I've saved for some reason. It played fine when I saved it so don't know what the problem could be. Once opened and all muted, I am able to solo some instruments in the mixer and it will play them. If I continue this soloing act I get far until I come across one which then mutes again all the solos? If the developer could take a look it would be greatly appreciated. Daw is latest Orion 8.5 though I don't have my hopes set for a fix in time but will hope so nonetheless. Will have to get creative to solve this myself and may end up having to stream a lot of things when cpu isn't even a problem. We'll see. Again, really ace synth with beautiful legato glides. Love it
Perfect for goa trance.

On a rare occasion, it could happen that a sound somehow won't play immediately and apparently accumulates notes only to then send out a massively clipping sound that automatically mutes the whole DAW. I think that happens especially when you just start up a song after loading, but you've done something else in the DAW right before then!?
But it can also happen with new instruments or when you switch from the default mono retrigger to polyphony.
Both things happened to me already.
Other than that it seems stable, pfff, haha.

Did you make a track? Share it with the group on SoundCloud (will take a bit to get approved). And post the details (number is instances, daw/plugins used) in this thread like everyone else.ecset wrote:hi All! should I do something here, to sign in to the One Synth Challenge #77: Charlatan challenge? I am not shure about it.

Welcome to OSC!
I'm having a bit of compressor envy here... can you provide more info on this FF red3 compressor? If it's the one that's free with Focusrite audio interfaces, it raises an interesting grey area in the rules. DAW plugins are allowed, paid plugins are not; so what about audio interface plugins?
"DAW effects are allowed, as are 3rd party effects if they are freeware and easily available (this does not include: plugin betas, demo, magware or freeware that expire UNLESS a special exception for that month is stated)"
TBH, I don't know which I enjoy more: new compressor plugins, or grey areas in the OSC rules

I have that effect when loading the charlatan project (Cubase), on first play there's pure chaos, then I send a MIDI panic and from then on everything's ok. I've had worse experiences in OSC, like completely freezing my DAW upon unloading (yeah, looking at you, eclipsis...)Taron wrote:On a rare occasion, it could happen that a sound somehow won't play immediately and apparently accumulates notes only to then send out a massively clipping sound that automatically mutes the whole DAW. As it is not "freely available" to everyone, I think this one is probably not allowed. If free plugins with hardware were allowed, someone could buy a fancy dsp or a bunch of hardware just for some specific plugins and have an "advantage" similar to commercial plugins (note: I am all for allowing all plugins!). Also, it's not possible to verify a track without owning the hardware. Will let bj chime in, but I'd assume based on the current rules it would have to be swapped out with a DAW or free plugin.ecset wrote:yeah, it is with my scarlett. so what is about that?

I think, the Bit Crusher is also a little bit questionable in terms of altering the sound!?ecset wrote: -TAL Bit crusher
Don't mean to poop on anybody's parade, but... makes me wonder a little bit.

Plenty of bitcrushers have been used in tracks past without issue. If the alteration isn't extreme, I think it's fine.Taron wrote:I think, the Bit Crusher is also a little bit questionable in terms of altering the sound!?ecset wrote: -TAL Bit crusher

ok than. what should I do? should I delete my song from soundcloud, and replace the fancy scarlett compressor, with an other compressor? and upload the new one? because it is just can be better with a compressor like TDR.z.prime wrote:As it is not "freely available" to everyone, I think this one is probably not allowed. Probably the best thing to do, yep. Just swap out the compressor with a different one (and yes, those TDR compressors are great and the free versions definitely allowed) and re-upload. No problem.ecset wrote:ok than. what should I do? should I delete my song from soundcloud, and replace the fancy scarlett compressor, with an other compressor? and upload the new one? because it is just can be better with a compressor like TDR.z.prime wrote:As it is not "freely available" to everyone, I think this one is probably not allowed.
