you can laugh at my attempts to make music on https://www.twitch.tv/rghvdberg

last session was just figuring out how to use my android phone as a midi controller
ssj71 made a little app for that (linux of course)

There is a hidden destination in the mod matrix: VCA pan.
To activate: browse through the presets and choose a patch which uses this feature. Use this as your init patch.

Why on earth would they hide that? Looked all over for a pan mod. Gotta remake my patch now

Seems I don't have a "lock" feature. Is this specific to a DAW?

You can lock any parameter (almost) by right clicking on the parameter

Well, this VSTi worked a lot better for me this month. Not sure if that is noticeable in my end result though.
It is a bit weird.
Zero crashes and everything ran really smooth up until the end(go go better PC). It took awhile to get it to render, ended up having to freeze everything or otherwise tracks would just quit and would not play again until DAW restart

All sounds from Initialize.

37 instances of Tyrell? How? My computer have problem with 15 instances. Audio buffer set to max and still almost 100% CPU usage. Do you have access to new unreleased procesors like i8 :D

I know exactly your feeling of incredulity. :hyper:
Last month I could not run more than 3 instances of Helm without near constant crashes. So I felt the same way about all the entries with 30+ instances.
I am quite sure there are many constants who could have PCs that could double my track count and not even break 50% on rendering.
But all I am using is an old i5 w/8gb RAM and a GTX 970 (older gaming PC). Used ASIO4ALL driver on built in soundcard and kept buffer at 512 until rendering. That gave 10ms latency which is fine for how poorly I play keyboards. I would have to go through on the piano roll and move stuff even if latency was zero
That is also a fresh win10 install on a SSD with minimal software bloat. Installed windows, installed Reaper and installed Tyrell and that is pretty much it.
Biggest single instance would pull a little over 6% CPU most were about 3%. And Tyrell is very good about when not playing notes it doesn't require much CPU, unlike last month where a single instance of Helm not playing anything would pull over 20% while sitting there silent on an older core2duo I was trying to use.
I would break about 60% CPU in spots on playback and rendering seems to take a flat 50% so I froze most things before trying to render. Otherwise CPU would go up to the 90s and things got all wonky. But when making the project I kept everything unfrozen due to how changing tempo with a frozen track can really mess things up. And I like changing tempo :clown:

Luckily I have a 12 core xeon, which still can't handle 25 instances properly. I have no proper soundcard, though, so ... guess that's what makes it so tough.
Right now I have to resort to "painting" many of my patterns, with live playing only as a starting point, but the real trouble is the playback, of course.(crackle, crackle, hang, crackle, crackle) :dog:
I must say, though, I'm using this KVR released space360 reverb, which is very interesting. If you automate any parameters of it, though, it really sucks up loads of processing time, making playback a nightmare.

All of this aside: Man, Tyrell has a really interesting sound and you can get some very unique instruments with it. I'm having a noteworthy amount of fun with it. :phones:

You'll just have to get the pattern and sound right, then FREEZE! Then at least you have the sound of Tyrell to then work your next tracks against - then when that sound is not quite right in the mix (bound to be the case eh???), then you have to go back to the MIDI+Tyrell and re-tweek and freeze again ... this is just where I am with my odd track ... but it's getting there :phones: ... slowly does it a few tracks at a time - luckily my track this time is relatively "sparse" - too much flack from OSC-ers about the overload of instruments sometimes :dog: But yeah, I can take it though :tu: ...!

Yeah, it does tend to surprise :o ... I'm also enjoying it a lot :tu: :tu: ...
