To those that want to compare the FusionIR version of the Bricasti M7 (which is the same for both Reverberate and VerbSuite Classic) with the "static IR" version of the Bricasti:

- snag the 30 day demo if Reverberate 2
- download the free Bricasti Library from LiquidSonics (Fusion IR)
- download the free Bricasti Library (96kHz version) from Samplicity

This sets you back a couple of GB's, but you have some great material to toy around with, and do some A/B tests yourself.

Else... great post, meloco_go - explains the technology better than I could ever explain it.

meloco_go wrote:PS my post does not address your situation regarding the moderation or Steven Slate.
Again, I think this was a server hiccup. I'd contact the mods/admins on GS.

And... now we have Matthew Hill (LiquidSonics) in the thread, ladies and gentlemen...

Compyfox wrote: The "Bricasti" set for example is indeed *.FIR (and can therefore be loaded in Reverberate 2), but the factory library looks like a locked format (I did get error messages while trying to load the files).
not ALL the factory lib is the new (.sdls) format - all the fg-600 and some of fg-250/fg-480 files are .fir and load just fine into reverberate2

I stand corrected then.

And if this works for you, even better. Then you only have to decide if you want both reverbs, or stick with VSC and it's (limited to some) concept

liquidsonics wrote: think I should I offer my assurances that Slate Digital developing Fusion-IR content for use within a Slate Digital developed plugin that uses the LiquidSonics Fusion-IR convolution engine will have zero negative impact on Reverberate or LiquidSonics. Due to my tendency to reveal things when they're finished I'm in no position to prove that to you right now, but I am genuinely excited about multiple new things in development. And that's not just stage managed corporate product launch false excitement, it's person that loves what they do and new great stuff is coming excitement - so I'm getting back to XCode to do what I'm good at :tu:
Thanks for the response Matt, I do appreciate it :tu:

Let me preface this with that I value that Reverberate has been actively in development, and it's come a long way. Despite our forgettable disagreement about the interface, you did eventually address this, and I'm much happier with the 'Dark Orange' theme than the Xbox 360 inspired UI. Also, that I've been a Slate user from the very beginning (when people considered Slate a conman and VCC a scam). I'm a supporter of everyone involved, even if I do have concerns.

I have become somewhat disillusioned and cynical about the audio software industry. I think I can reduce this for anyone informed: subscription models, Camel Audio. I see this collaboration as a great opportunity for LiquidSonics and Slate. However, when I see some of the first new Fusion-IRs (or similar-based IR technology) that I hoped would have been part of Reverberate's evolution applied to an entirely new $199 IR player, in the context of my disillusionment, it does concern me. I didn't feel cynical when you licensed your tech to Image-Line. In fact, I pushed it from that side. I see that both parties benefited there, but in this situation I feel like Reverberate users lost out. Hopefully, that's only temporary.

I'm prepared to take your assurances at face value, and hope I'm just reacting like a jealous end user. You (and Slate) don't owe me any explanations at all, I can appreciate that. I did feel it only right to state how I feel though. I'm someone who values criticism, and hope you can look at this in that respect. I look forward to what you have in store for Reverberate, or any future technologies. Whatever happens, I'll always value you as the one that gave me latency-free convolution.

Lo and behold - no test and i am simply rejected from conversation ?!? WTF?

Mind you i did not badmouth anyone, i did not talk crap on anyone nor did i said something rude. No warning from GS no anything. Just poof! Every time i try to read that thread where i asked these questions i got this: "You have been removed from this discussion."
Which thread is this? I'm subscribed to various Slate threads on GS, and then only one that recently talked about public A/B tests was for VTM, as far as I remember.

Looks like Repeater has just been released http://slatedigital.com/repeater-delay/

Oh my, someone with the power to execute their will abu....using it? Never. Not in 15 years (that I can remember on the interwebz) :hihi:

I have no idea what way is up or down in this thread, but I have a moderate interest in the plug. Am I under the impression that D16 is releasing their own or are they simply advertising for the slate version?

Post

This is a collaboration. Both Slate Digital and D16 will sell it apparently. Only that the release date seems to have been pulled up. Because I read today (don't ask me where... I think I saw it in a mail or something) that the release is supposed to be next week on 23rd.

Apparently it's in release condition - and the Slate Digital subscription model got it first.

The problem I have with it being slate if that is the case is it being tied to the ilok and the VMR racks "15 seconds to launch" aspect. So unless it's more expensive that will be the way I go (if I go that way).

Will check back next week.

VMR is the only one of all Slate products that takes that long to load due to the fact that it can hold so many licenses (and therefore checks all of them as well) prior to even firing up. This is a known issue to the developers.

Street price is 99USD. Saw it at various places at this point, JRRShop included. According to the Slate Digital page, no intro price and no higher MSRP (although certain stored list it for 149USD MSRP). So that is something to look out for.

To sit out the initial feedback and support madness (possible broken release/bugfixes)... good idea. :tu:
