I didn't say this one is "the best". See? Language barrier. Or maybe you should try harder to understand what other people are ACTUALLY saying. Calming down will help A LOT.Compyfox wrote:First and foremost - this is not "the best" metering tool out there, and it probably never will be.sfxsound3 wrote:Compyfox, do you expect to get "THE BEST" loudness meter and lifetime updates for free?

No, actually you wrote that I expect it to be "the best" - which I don't.sfxsound3 wrote:I didn't say this one is "the best".
I'm not stupid, you know.
And we're down that road again... nothing short of lecturing, I already know what the next step will be as well. So.. time to depart with this discussion then.sfxsound3 wrote:Or maybe you should try harder to understand what other people are ACTUALLY saying. Calming down will help A LOT.
I'll have an eye on the news - once there is an update, I'll check it out just to see if the bugs are fixed.
Other than that - have fun, people.

CPU usage can be improved up to a point and this will happen in future releases, but don't expect huge improvement as plugin needs to calculate a lot of things under the hood... The main CPU hog is true peak detector as it is doing more than 4 000 000 multiplications a second. I will add option for lower quality mode though...re23071998 wrote:man, youlean v1 use to much cpu for metering plugin. i hope you fix it

So, while I am making v2.0.0 you can try v1.5.0 BETA which should actually be more stable than the latest stable release: http://youlean.co/youlean-loudness-meter/
New BETA is bringing:
New BETA is bringing:
- Added GUI scaling. Activate by ctrl+drag on resizing handle.
Added view modes.
Added continuous mode.
Added fine control for true peak threshold.
Fixed crashes in Cubase - VST3 version.
A lot of stability improvements.
Minor graphical glitches fixes.

I need more time for further tests, but v1.5 beta seem to do the following now:
- beta 1.5 download is an installer (Windows)
- installs in parallel to the old DC2016 version with a new ID (added name BETA)
- works in Wavlab 9.0.x (both VST2, VST3), while the old version did no "processing" at all

This is exactly what it should be happening. In Wavlab only "Continuous" mode will work and I will gray out other options in the future updates.Compyfox wrote:I need more time for further tests, but v1.5 beta seem to do the following now:

Haven't tried it yet, but I've one feature request of sorts.
Zooming out of the histogram, it goes up in size by 5 minute intervals, then above 1 hour it jumps to 2 hours. I'd like to see something in between, perhaps 10 minute intervals or even just an extra view for 90 minutes. I've used this as a visual aid for a few album masters that have been just over an hour and it would be nice to get an overview that fits better.
Otherwise, looks good, love the GUI scaling. I'll report back any bugs if i encounter them.

Thanks. Actually I was thinking about this, and I might consider changing this in the future...mutantdog wrote:Haven't tried it yet, but I've one feature request of sorts.

Define "Continuous Mode", please... do you mean the Histogram? Will you reduce other features like "show histogram in 30s blocks" or will the plugin only work after I hit "playback"?Youlean wrote:This is exactly what it should be happening. How do I have to understand this?

Histogram will work only in Continuous mode inside Wavelab. This is Wavelab limitation. Continuous mode is independent of host playback.Compyfox wrote:Define "Continuous Mode", please... do you mean the Histogram? Well, nothing new - as Wavelab is "playback reliant"Youlean wrote:Histogram will work only in Continuous mode inside Wavelab. This is Wavelab limitation. But what do you mean with:

It means that you won't be able to select different mode. In current version you can...Compyfox wrote:t what do you mean with:

This seems like a bug to me....
I disable the distribution view, but when i later re-open the project and open the plugin window, the distribution is visible. According to the view menu, distribution is still switched off, switching it back on resizes the GUI, switching it off again removes the view but the GUI remains resized.
VST 2, 64-bit, Ableton 9.7, Win10.
