I'm getting better.. every day a little.. and when I have the feeling that I understand all of this synth, Ill give Reaktor or Zebra 2 a try.
Ah yes - fish!
Indeed. IMO people don't really make these choices from a rational POV. They are much more driven by emotion and perception of ability derived from listening to the demos. It's very hard when you don't know synthesis to be able to separate what is unique to a particular synth from the sounds that you are hearing and what is just stylistic preference intended to impress a particular market segment.

Anyway YaY! Spire! YaY! Welcome to the GASaholics club!

Nice, that's the one I learned on as well (still learning actually). Things are logically laid out and you always seem to get an interesting sound no matter what you do :)

Yea so dune makes easy stacks. Zebra makes like anything else. Reaktor is complex as f*ck and omnisphere sucks to use as a synth even if you love it. Beginners shouldn't use any one imo, just go for something quick like tal noisemaker or dexed or whatever there's like hundreds of em. Like learn to program a synth first then throw money at a big one that lets you do what you want better. I mean you can get all those sounds from free shit if you want but the point of buying a synth is to make it easy to get that sound like just using presets or it's got a better workflow you know?

You won't know what to get til you know what to get. Plain and simple right?

Glad you took my advice in the end. :tu:
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

So the OP ended up getting Spire? Cool.
