As that's a factory sample, and should be in your samples folder, I have no idea what could be causing that. There are some patches in there made with my own samples that won't work because I did not include the samples in the upload. But that patch SHOULD work. So my guess is, yes, the path's have to be the same. But I don't know. You'll have to ask the dev.Teksonik wrote:Checking out your patches I got this with the "Calamity Jane" patch. If so there may be problems sharing patches if everyone uses a different install path. My patches will kick up a warning on your system etc ?

I happen to enjoy doing GUI edits and have for many years. I find it relaxing and creatively rewarding. Plus having all the plugins that I can edit look just the way I want allows me to work more efficiently so in the long run it helps productivity.egbert101 wrote:All that time spending on different coloured displays that the developer should have done himself, is time not spent designing sounds or making music.
But as mentioned Diodow and Tranzistow are considered finished products by the developer. If they don't suite you or if you find the feature set incomplete you might as well move on. They are not going to change.

Apparently that's going to be a problem then as we try to share patches. I have those samples but in a different location. I think there are going to be a lot of people who don't install plugins in the Steinberg folder (I don't even have that folder).wagtunes wrote:As that's a factory sample, and should be in your samples folder, I have no idea what could be causing that. As for asking the developer he's said:
* The synthesizer is "feature finished" - no new features will be added so, please, don't ask for a new feature, user interface changes, VST3 support, additional VST automation support, VST preset management, etc. I also don't have any plans to support AU, AAX, RTAS or any other platform beside VST.
So it would be pointless to ask for this issue to be resolved if it is indeed going to be an issue. We just have to live with the quirks whatever they may be

Yeah, the patches samples are hard coded from wherever you pulled them from.
Easy solution.
Find the sample on your system. Load it in and resave the patch. It'll take all of 15 seconds if that.
But yeah, patch sharing, if using samples, is going to be a bit of a headache.
No way around it.

Thank you Mr. HrastProgrammer for these gems and Wagtunes for the patches!
I found the following problems:
Maybe the samples need a relative path and / or are missing from the archive?

1. I did not include the custom samples with the patches.noizetronic wrote:Thank you Mr. Hrstprogrammer for these gems and Wagtunes for the patches!

2. The synth apparently hard codes the path for the samples. So it is looking for the EXACT path that is on my system, which obviously won't match yours.
For the factory samples, which you have, simply find them on your system (they're in the samples folder) and reload them into the correct oscillator and then resave the patch.
Not ideal, but it is what it is.

Samples can be relative paths too. Just remove the absolute part of the path and only leave the part relative to the .hp preset in. Easy to batch text edit that.

And exactly how do you do that? I have absolutely no idea how to edit paths in this synth.EvilDragon wrote:Samples can be relative paths too. Just remove the absolute part of the path and only leave the part relative to the .hp preset in. Easy to batch text edit that.

I have not had any errors with the EDT patches that do include the same samples "E0044" etc. Not sure why no errors with those patches. I tried placing the samples folder in the same folder as your patches but no luck. We can't expect the plugin to search our entire hard drives looking for the samples used in patches.
Maybe if there was a standardized location for patches e.g. My Documents / Diodow. You could then have the .dll anywhere you want ? Not sure if that would work or not.
Bottom line is we can't expect any help from the developer and I'm fine with that, he made it for himself so if it doesn't work perfectly for us then that's our bad luck.
Shame as the sound of these plugins rivals or bests some commercial plugins. But I've had three consecutive crashes with Diodow in Reaper so for me these plugins will have to remain fun novelties not to be used in serious projects due to the quirks and lack of ongoing support. Again I understand and respect the developer's stance on Diodow and Tranzistow.

The EDT patches work because somehow he made those relative paths. I don't know how to do that.Teksonik wrote:I have not had any errors with the EDT patches that do include the same samples "E0044" etc. Not sure why no errors with those patches. So the question is how to create patches the way EDT did.......
