The more I play with Repro-5, the more I wish there was a Jupiter-8 modelled as well as this, with such a nice interface as this...

While I love the Pro-1, and it's my favourite classic monosynth of all, counter-intuitively I've not really been super into the Prophet 5 character in general (not that there aren't great sounds in there, of course there are - it's just the sweet spot for me is narrower).

Of all the classic analog "big" polyphonics, it's the Jupiter 8 character that speaks to me more than the SCI/Oberheim/Moog/Yamaha/Korg stuff. Partly due to featuring prominently on a lot of influential music in my formative years, I'm sure.

I know it's pretty unlikely to happen, and the Roland Cloud plugin sounds decent enough (although the interface is poor), but...

What a great product Repro is, though... :love: :tu:

Am I understanding that correctly? :shock:
I wanted to pay more, but he thought it wasn't worth it. I then had it refurbished for nearly 7k.

And here comes by dumb question of the day. There are already Jupiter VST's on the market in the form of Arturia's Juputer 8 V2 and the Jup 8 V3 and Rolands Jupiter 8 softsynth products. What would the hopes or expectations of an end user be in having yet another company make another VST based on the Jupiter synth? More resource friendly? A product that isn't quite an accurate homage to the Jupiter but a more modernized interpretation of the sounds? A cheaper alternative? Just wondering.

Uh....isn’t that Diva? I mean it’s not a 100 percent emulation of the Jupiter 8 (it actually does a helluva lot more than just the J8) but, there are a couple of Jupiter (and other) templates that come with it. It’s kept me off the cloud

I thought Diva was designed based on a minimog.

Diva does Moog’s Minimoog, Roland's Jupiter 6, Jupiter 8, Alpha Juno and Juno 60, and Korg's MS20. You owe it to yourself to demo. It’s probably the only reason I am not on the Cloud right now. Also, I ran across some Diva patches that emulate the OB-8 for $25 bucks, and am not disappointed

Diva is a 'Frankestein' synth, with some parts of various synths.

Wow, brilliant deal :tu:

Tax deductible too I'm sure ;) R&D obviously.

Yep, you still save (PW+Satin+Twangs+Coco -> 400$) and you can resell your existing Repro + Diva easily if you had them for 9+ months. Better sell them after this sale though.
I love how you gave people the hint to sell when the prices go up again, but there are so many people that are "panic" selling now on the marketplace. I find it :clap: :dog:

I'm keeping my spare licenses for now, I guess it means I can use the effects on two tracks instead of just one :lol:

Am i correct assuming that... Minimoog = ladder filter, Juno-60 = Cascade filter, ??? = Multimode filter, Bite = MS-20 filter, and Uhbie = OB-X filter?

Having a bit of a hard time figuring those modes out. Same with the oscillator modes. Ok, Triple OSC is the MM, Digital is the JP-8k, not sure about the other ones, though.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter_8
According to Wikipedia, Jupiter 6, the successor had a Multimode filter. It also had multiple combined waveforms per OSC (which Jupiter 8 didn't have).
So as said before it's a hybrid or more like the Jupiter 6.

Oscillators:
Triple VCO = Moog Minimoog Model D
Dual VCO = Roland Jupiter 6 (In analog 2 mode), Roland Jupiter 8 (In analog 1 mode)
DCO = Roland Alpha Juno 2/Juno 60 (The Juno 60 only has the the saw wave, the pulse wave and the sub osc, and none of the additional PWM waves)
Dual VCO Eco = Korg MS-20
Digital = Roland JP-8000 (With a lot of improvements)

Filters:
Ladder = Moog Minimoog Model D
Cascade = Roland Juno 60 (In rough mode), Roland Jupiter 8 (In clean mode)
Multimode = Roland Jupiter 6
Bite = Korg MS-20 (Both revisions)
Uhbie = Oberheim SEM
The ladder, cascade and multimode filters have additional 2-pole LP modes, which the originals don't have.

Envelopes:
ADS = Moog Minimoog Model D
Analogue = Roland Juno 60, Roland Jupiter 8
Digital = Roland Jupiter 6 (With switchable quantization and curvature behaviour)
