I have Voted! And it was a refreshingly small amount of tracks, but also surprisingly small. This synth has such power, but the power lies deep within and requires more attention than the "easy to use" interface would suggest. Too quickly the sounds can sound stale and digital, leading some to end up with almost sterile overall feeling in the tracks. Some went the extra mile to put as much warmth into it as possible, but it did work and resulted in some very fascinating atmospheres, oddly also unique to this particular synth. Kind of interesting, I find.
Well, I am surprised that so few of us took it on, which may also have been because of the season, draping around Christmas and all?! However... delightful voting session, pecked with some precious gems and not one cringing track, as far as I'm concerned.
Great job, everyone!

I have voted! Would like to add that the mixing and creativity this round was really good! This synth really empowered us all this month

Ya, the season was likely a limiting factor, as I think many past participants would have enjoyed working with this synth and seeing what it had to offer. I barely had time myself.Taron wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2020 4:16 pm Well, I am surprised that so few of us took it on, which may also have been because of the season, draping around Christmas and all?!
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Thanks for voting. One of the few things I don't like about OSC is that the participants themselves are the ones who vote. This has its pros and cons. That is why it is good to count from time to time with the vote of people who are not contestants.
Thanks also for all your effort and the people of Kilohearts so we could make music with Phase Plant this past December. My time was short to explore all the possibilities of this versatile synthesizer.

I think it's most excellent, that OSC "players" have to vote and would almost prefer, if only we were allowed to vote to avoid any kind of "fraudulent" or "favoring" voters as we clearly have from time to time. Wouldn't be the first time that we'd see some outside give 1s to everyone except his "favorite" for one reason or another. I find that utterly childish and misleading. We should "work" together and help each other to gain understanding, quality and rightful confidence.
Also, "outsiders" may not understand the challenge it means to do what we do and come with "trained" tastes, gradually pushing the less confident OSClers to do more and more pop stuff, whether they enjoy this or not, piece by piece eroding this creative little paradise of ours.
If I had any say in this, I would only allow participants to vote.
(never mind the drag at times, hehe
)
