Brainworx acquiring PPG Synths!

Using the original PPG logo, which Brainworx (NI) own, and Waldorf do not anymore (hence it's removal from the PPG Wave 3.0 plugin), is interesting.... So definitely something from Native Instruments, using presumably the PPG IP they bought.

Exciting. And about time. Bringing in his synth catalogue to komplete would be amazing and a reason to upgrade to a subsequent komplete bundle for me.

I heard of this before, but that product is from Cornel Hect, not Mr. PalmShabdahbriah wrote: Mon May 05, 2025 7:41 am https://synthanatomy.com/2025/04/ppg-w2 ... lator.html

Creating a completly different picture vs. what it really is.
The original release PR blurb has had the required info "to understand what it really is", inclouded. But presented in a easily wrongly understandable way. So everybody was overreading that crucial bit of info with pleasure.
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

I might have been wrong. The new PPG photo is also on https://www.liquidskyartistcollective.c ... ky-d-vices, and the FB page has Cornel Hect in the email, so it might still be about the modular unit. But maybe it's part of something bigger.

Indeed. Just thought my post was relevant as it (logo) is licensed from NI, which makes me curious as to whether or not they will be using it as well. I had originally thought that much of the appeal of buying Brainworx in the first place was Palm's IP, but their sitting on it for as long as they have, somewhat dashed my hopes that they would actually use it, and build on/incorporate his more recent innovations. I personally have no interest in the PPG legacy stuff.
I haven't heard from him since he retired and dropped his Official Company Forum here, on which I was one of his two moderators, and a beta tester. I look forward to seeing what he is up to at Superbooth.

Yeah what’s the deal with that covered up keyboard. Hope not.

I'm guessing it is a ploy to get people to 'wonder' IF it is a keyboard. I suspect it is just a eurorack case. I think it's a stretch to imagine NI investing in a PPG keyboard, when his 'virtual' stuff was pretty popular even though suffering to a degree from a lack of high profile marketing, and particularly with the uncertainty of components availability on the horizon. Though having that dude who is making the PPG eurorack module in their both with Palm, will give their marketing people some feedback, that may prove me wrong.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 1:46 amYeah what’s the deal with that covered up keyboard. More than just one euro module:
"The PPG 1002, one of the rarest and most sought-after synthesizers in music history, is back as a original PPG hardware synthesizer. The PPG 1002 was, alongside the modular synthesizers, one of the last fully analog PPG synthesizer. It laid the foundation for later digital milestones such as the PPG 360, the Wave 2, and the Wave 2.2.
The PPG 1002 reissue is now available for order: www.ppgsynth.com"

Gotta make sure that NI licensing fee for the logo gets paid...
