I will compare Model 84 with Repro and Diva too to decide which one I like better. Model 84 doesn't have as many features as Arturia synths do, arpeggiator for example, but I realized I could drive it with Pigments' arperggiator/sequencer if needed.
Your favorite "versatile analog-modelled/emulation" synth plugin?

Yeah, I was tempted by Model 72 recently, but I don't use mono synths much so I skipped it, especially considering I have Monark too - which is excellent. Softube emulations are definitely on another level, especially the 84 for me when the times come to get one. Might sound counterintuitive, but the sound actually feels like analog/hardware even though I have never touched the actual hardware

Granted it was created when Saurus was at 1, but this is my favourite Saurus bank. Very Vintage Analogue(y).YnJ wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 7:59 am .......
The presets are generally a tad bright and modern sounding if that's what you mean, there are a few vintage presets sounding really authentic in between though, and if you tweak it yourself the synth is quite capable of making really nice and convincing vintage sounds

For actual use ? It is almost cheating because of all the modules but well.. Diva
For having fun with vintage sounds, then most likely Repro. I tried Obsession recently and it's Repro level I think, the resolution is so high, it probably sound just like the real thing.

I agree, Model 84 is really fantastic. It was on special discount until yesterday, $79 with a code. But it will be on sale again... considering that Model 72 was sold for $39 recently I'm guessing we will see a similar deal at some point.

Today played with Vital and tryed Polymode as layer, have to say emulations add some charm.
Could somebody recommend me emulation suitable for organic deep bass, something you had use in a project.
Want to do sound similar to the bass at 00:38,what emulation will be right for that:

Yeah, missed the sale by few minutes. Hopefully it will be back soon because I am really enjoying the demo. As you said, I hope it gets the similar, < $50 sale price soon.gondii wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 4:05 pmLoveEnigma18 wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 11:05 am Yeah, I was tempted by Model 72 recently, but I don't use mono synths much so I skipped it, especially considering I have Monark too - which is excellent. In fact, I maybe an odd guy but I am liking it more than Repro and Diva for its simplicity and sound both. Not to say Repro/Diva are less, it's just a personal taste. Model 84 should complement my Monark and Super 8 really well I think, so I can skip on Model 72 (which I must admit gets tempting at ~ $40, I must resist though).

To my ears, that's just a Moog bass. Deep filter, little filter mod, detuned oscillators, and a decent amount of drive (or, on a Moog synth, feedback). Pretty run-of-the-mill deep bass sound. You could get that with Monark or Model 72 (I prefer the latter), or with Model D in hardware or any Moog hardware, of course.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 4:21 pm Want to do sound similar to the bass at 00:38,what emulation will be right for that:

That bass is really nice. Bring the walls down stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it was done with soft synths though, a lot of layering, and, as Introspective wrote, a lot of drive/distortion.VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 4:21 pm Want to do sound similar to the bass at 00:38,what emulation will be right for that:

I bought both when they were on sale, and I use Diva much more often. They both sound good but if you can only have one Diva would be your go to.

It sounds nice, but I am sure one can get very close with decent softsynths.excuse me please wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 12:16 am Ok, I'd like to hear something similar coming from a vst that happens from 6:48-7:12 in this video:
I wish one could safely download the audio from the video, I could load it in my DAW and try to match it.

For those of you who own Hive, I'm pretty impressed with this addon:

It's on my short list of possibilities for when I get my new ARM Mac.

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

Some of my old Synthmaster presets sound similar just need more drive/distortion i guess.chk071 wrote: Sat Jan 08, 2022 6:09 pmThat bass is really nice. Bring the walls down stuff. Anyway will look for discount of moog emulations.
Probably something decent can be done with 'analog' wavetables and 'analog' filters ):):)
