It's definitely a Moog

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist..Hyperbole wrote: Thu Apr 17, 2025 2:47 amI suppose this is why Gearspace moderators immediately delete any posts related to AI: Such posts are guaranteed to send the thread completely off the rails almost immediately. Thread participants always end up discussing the merits of UBI, which is everyone's favorite subject.
At the risk of sending us down the UBI path, it's interesting to ask ChatGPT what it "thinks" are the difficulties AI researchers face developing a self-aware AGI.
ChatGPT will discuss the inherent limitations of Large Language Models (LLMs), emphasizing that these systems currently lack the depth needed for true understanding. It will explain that for AI to genuinely comprehend information, it must first construct a detailed model of the world. ChatGPT will say that this model is crucial for evaluating the trustworthiness of information and making authoritative statements. Additionally, ChatGPT will explain how researchers need to first develop a science of consciousness to determine whether AI systems possess self-awareness. ChatGPT will conclude by saying that the work to build a self-aware AGI is monumental, and simply scaling up existing LLMs is unlikely to succeed. Predictions that AGI could be achieved within one to three years are considered highly optimistic and unrealistic.
So even ChatGPT calls bullshit on most of the speculative claims about AI, or at least near-term AGI.
There was a time when people were firmly convinced that Zeus existed. Ditto for Fairies in the forest. Progress marches on and science (and reason) have now shown that the devil (and people’s modern gods) similarly don’t exist.panspOrmia wrote: Sat Apr 19, 2025 1:14 pm The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist..

I don't remember this being the case; I vaguely remember the best upgrade price being immediately after release, but I could be wrong. I am, however, always impressed with how low the price is. Arturia is more than fair with this.martinjuenke wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 6:22 am We'll know tomorrow.
But upgrading seems to be cheaper at Black Friday than immediately, right?
BF 2026 maybe but this year probably notmartinjuenke wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 6:22 am We'll know tomorrow.

...my wishul thinking, they updated this to release a new filter collection with the already existing MS-20 one and their renewed versions of the Minimoog, Prophet 5 and 303 filter sections (never cared that much for their Matrix plug-in). With good reason these seem to be usual suspects, when it comes to filter emulations for all kinds of developers and I certainly would like to have these filters as separate plug-ins (maybe even add their Minibrute, if that's not too arrogant in such a collection)...noiseboyuk wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 12:32 pm
SEM is a very bizarre choice to have picked for sure. It has always been well received, whereas we all know there are others in the archive that need love.
