Nope, not here...jamcat wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 10:52 am I've come across another MODO BASS bug: the pickup volume dials seem to only have two state: off (knob at 0) and 100% (knob > 0).
Anyone else experienced this?

It's all good now though, I found a workaround. If anyone else is having this problem, here's what I did just yesterday:
Step 1: Uninstall MODO.

Dear experts,
I'm a novice with Modo Bass 2 and have a stupid question. How can I get to the higher notes on the E side with my Midi Controller? The controller has 49 Slides. I want to record a truly easy song with just four keys on a bass Tab, like this: E12 E7 E9 E5
I assume I have to set up something in the "control" section but I can't figure out a way to play this tune. The "yellow area" on the virtual fingerboard only includes 4 tabs, so I can't get easily from E12 to E 7 and so on. I hope this translates well.
Many thanks for Your support, best regards Jonas

Always wanted a bass plugin that is not 10TB on my SSD.
Modo Bass 2 is on sale on audiodeluxe for 89$ with automatic coupon at checkout, so I got weak and fell into IK cosmos.
Thought it would be great with Bass Amp Room from Softube and it is. Don´t have the chance to go deep right now, but at first sight it seems to be a winner. Very good plugin.

Is there a way to automate the Mute knob of Modo Bass 2 in the DAW? I use Cakewalk in Windows 10 and Modo Bass isn't working like most other plugins do in that respect.

You should be able to set it up on the control screen

look in the manual - p57

That worked, but it doesn't record it within Cakewalk as I make changes with the control on my MIDI controller.jbraner wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 10:49 am You should be able to set it up on the control screen

I can't remember how Cakewalk works - but surely it will be able to record MIDI CC's.

I'm not the OP, but the Bend CC is a setting. I don't see a setting for the bend range itself. I could be wrong though so feel free to correct me.
That said, this product seeks to emulate physical bass instruments (electric and acoustic). You can't do 4 octave pitch bends on a bass. Let alone polyphonic, multi-octave string bends with different voices going in different directions like you can with MPE. In the rare instance someone bends on a real bass, we're usually talking about a chromatic half step (e.g. D to Eb).
I get it if you have an MPE keyboard and want to take advantage of it and go beyond what real instruments can do, but that's just not what this particular product is about. This is more in the category of "realistic emulation", so it's got realistic constraints built in.

Sorry - I was thinking of the "slide" setting :-\
That is on the bottom right of the control screen (shown above).
Bend is different - as Funkybot's Evil Twin says, it's a CC setting. Here's what the manual says:
BEND: Controls the bending of the current note (BEND range is fixed to +/- 4 semitones). When using MIDI CC values to control this parameter, 0 will equal to a -4 semitones bend and 127 will result in a bend of +4 semitones. A value of 64 will return this value to the root of the note you are bending.
I missed the MPE part of the question, so just see FET's answer above
sorry about that...

I don’t believe it’s about wanting to go beyond the range of what’s natural, it’s more that MPE by default is +/-48. So, if the synth is set to that, without modification to the controller, you get natural bends (at least on the Linnstrument). The range of that +/-48 is over 48 keys in either direction. So, you bend to the note you want by sliding up the keybed. I know the Linnstrument has certain preset bend ranges, I don’t remember if it has a programmable one. If it did, simply setting it to +/-4 would achieve the same effect. I think the issue is more about not having to change the controller to match the synth every time you change synths. I’d have to hook up my Linnstrument and try it but I believe the way pitch bend scales, if it’s in MPE mode and you try to slide up the keys for a bend, +/-4 would be undetectable for the most part. You would have to slide 12x as far to get that full 4 semitone bend.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 2:31 pmMartenIdo wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 11:45 am Can anyone report on what the pitch bend range is now? Now, I don’t know what controller the other poster was using or that anything I said above was their reasoning. It is the reason I would want it though for the MPE controller I have.

I figured out I could draw in the mute amount I wanted in the Piano Roll view, so it works for me that way.jbraner wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 2:07 pm I can't remember how Cakewalk works - but surely it will be able to record MIDI CC's.

I could buy for cheap an unregistered license for MODO Bass 1.5 SE. As far as I understand it lacks the pattern tab added to v2. If I install the 2 CS on top of that I would get a limited number of patterns and I won't be able to add new patterns and the only way to get them would be upgrade to the 2 SE or to the 2 Full, am I right? Thanks in advance.

You sure could. I tried to sell MB2 for $50 for months without a bight so no choice but to keep it. v1.5? By that metric it should go for about $27. VERY similar story with Modo Drumben_ita wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 12:36 pm I could buy for cheap an unregistered license for MODO Bass 1.5 SE.
