Since i already bought pretty much everything except Simplon, Micro and One, i haven't much thinking to do.marina wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 5:19 pm Congratulations to OP for regaining access to his FabFilter account!
I’m aware that my opinion won’t be very well accepted by the board, but I want to share it anyway.

One might only wonder what could have happened, should OP decided to leave his deactivated account issue private…
In future I will think twice before buying from FabFilter.
In my experience, Fabfilter support has been spot on.
Someone had transferred me upgrade to Twin2 once and I didn't have Twin. We solved it via FB messenger and they refunded the seller the 10€ transfer ticket and transferred the plugin back to them. They didn't have to because it was poor communication on my and seller's behalf. Nobody was charged anything, they simply reversed the transfer because I asked them.
Nothing had to be made public for them to solve this quickly and without any questions.
They also said to me when i bugged them about Twin2, that people who buy new versions within 2 month period get free 2-month grace period update to next version. Well, it was a few weeks over 2 monhts and they did grace period anyway.
Their major updates are 20-30€/update, more decent that a lot of vendors out there.
They also update everything in extremely timely manner and keep maintenance for really old stuff, which some companies simply abandon and force you to go to new version if you wish to just have it working. They don't do that. Plugins release years ago received M1 updates for example.
There's a couple of devs that work that way, but not all, and most popular contenders are WAY worse.
They're one of the few companies i don't even blink when they do updates. They update? I buy.

I'm glad it was resolved, but this was what quite a few people suggested early on in the thread. Engage with Fabfilter. They're not here to rip anyone off. I'm glad you eventually did. I'm glad they corrected the error. Sometimes sh*t happens, but when it does, just work to get the issue resolved versus throwing your hands up in the air and posting in a forum about how you got f*cked.Proteinshake wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 9:30 am Hey guys, I am happy to report that the deactivation of my account is of now reversed. Mistakes were made on both ends. My lessons learnt from all this:
- I will most likely exclusively purchase from FabFilter directly from now on
- If I do want to go second hand, I'll have the seller provide details so FabFilter can run a check if it is indeed legit
Thanks again everyone. And thanks to FabFilter for coming trough!
- For extra safety, always keep your conversations with a seller and PayPal receipts
Thanks for the detailed documentation, that helps a lot. I apologize for jumping to wrong conclusion regarding your account's activities. The provided PDF's show that you had the correct intentions purchasing the plug-ins. I have immediately reactivated your account.

We have seen some unwanted license transfers in the past. We are making additional security measures to prevent this from happening. Until then these cases are handled manually, and judgement calls have to be made by people in our team. Unfortunately we can sometimes be wrong as well, like in this specific case. We should have at least contacted you regarding the transfers before deactivating your account. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We can’t be sure that didn’t happen before this thread, but your point is well taken. KVR can be helpful in this way.vurt wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:41 pm better he raged here than at customer service

If other people see this and become aware that FabFilter will happily check licenses for you prior to purchasing from someone over the Internet, then the thread can be a net positive, for users and FabFilter.
Nobody wants to see someone scammed.

Not nearly! Not even when they have sales.
Personally I still have neither updated Timeless nor Volcano because I much rather spent my money on purchasing full licences for other plugins - .e.g. Valhalla Delay is less than the update from Timeless V2 to V3 (50$ vs 64.50€) - and Valhalla's substantial updates are always free.
So I really don't know what you're on about...

So Fabfilter themselves admitted they handled it poorly/ made a mistake - yet you still think they did nothing wrong.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:31 pm I'm glad it was resolved, but this was what quite a few people suggested early on in the thread. Fabfilter offer to check the lincences before you go ahead with purchasing them in order
to avoid for them having to say "sorry, but that is not a valid license" i.e. to spare you getting burnt like that.
But this has got nothing to do with this thread This is NOT at all what happened to the OP.
I can't for the life of me see how this can be hard for anyone to comprehend. I explained it two times to you already and I know you read it because you replied to it.
The licences he purchased ended up in his account, so they were considered valid by FF back then
i.e. had he asked FF to check them they would no doubt have greenlighted them.
So pleasestop compulsively repeating the same off topic stuff as if it would bring world-peace when it has got nothing at all to do with the thread. If you do we must otherwise assume you're a completel idiot who is to dumb to understand the simplest things.
Gosh - some people!
