If it sounds good it is good.

Ok. Here's the deal. I think it seems really stupid to have all the automation for a track in the same track, hard to keep track of things when one automates 4 or more parameters. imo. But that's not why I wrote what I did above. If you read my post prior to S_A_P's one you might understand the ironyEricRichmond wrote:Huh?stefancrs wrote:The automation handling makes it practically unusable for professional music making.LoRez wrote:Huh?stefancrs wrote:Because that hosts sucks? Care to be more specific? Also, wasn't it amongst the list of "good hosts" you just rattled off a few posts ago?stefancrs wrote:The automation handling makes it practically unusable for professional music making.LoRez wrote:Huh?stefancrs wrote:Because that hosts sucks? It's not hard considering the envelopes get different colors and can be shown/hidden independently. Don't you think to say that the way this feature is implemented makes Sonar practically unuseable for professional work is bit of an irrational statement?stefancrs wrote:Ok. Here's the deal. Yeah, imagine the record executive in your studio saying:LoRez wrote: Don't you think to say that the way this feature is implemented makes Sonar practically unuseable for professional work is bit of an irrational statement?
" I dunno, love the music, but..how can I put it...the way the automation data is displayed makes it impossible to offer you this score ...sorry..Hans Zimmer has all the automation lines displayed on separate tracks...Cubase, you know? I saw it wit me own eyes..he'll get the job.."
...
Give it some perspective guys.stefancrs wrote:The automation handling makes it practically unusable for professional music making.

Again, the irony. Yes I listed it as one of the hosts that gives you great means to make great music. And I meant thatLoRez wrote:It's not hard considering the envelopes get different colors and can be shown/hidden independently. Having the automation globally displayed is a real advantage. I think is is a significant advance. I have been a bit frustrated at the nebulous "edit events" mode that older versions used. E.g., on older projects I would forget where the automated parameters were.
I think it is the ususal block with understanding the workings of the Fruity playlist that causing the miscues here.

I think the main problem here is that I praised "all hosts" and then dissed one and people started arguing with me for the dissing

Well if you think that automation is preventing you from making good music then its not your hosts fault.
Either way the automation of sonar is perfectly useable IMHO, again, its not a pissing contest...

You stupid Swedes - always trying to be funny! You just don't have that skill. Get over it.stefancrs wrote: Friggins sake! Get with the ironyI quite clearly said that for instance Sonar is a great tool for music making and then I said that it sucks just for [insert whatever reason here]. It's no funny being funny when people just think you are funny :/

stefancrs,
haha, I for one was just busting your chops, I got the joke but I probably should have stated something to that effect.

If it sounds good it is good.
