I've mentioned this before - Life doesn't generate new patterns, it just pulls from a predetermined set of patterns similar to (as you mention) XO. Spend any amount of time with it and it gets old, FAST. If it could generate truly random but musical patterns using AI, it would be 10x the app it is now. I'd love to see it, but I'm not holding my breath.

A deep enough pool of patterns is enough because the actual differences come from the sound those patterns are being applied to.

Even changing up the slice order will yield different results with the same pattern.

Many drum patterns have a lot in common so it’s not particularly weird that they’d use already existing patterns.

As annoying as the whole cloud-sync thing was, this has been a major source of inspiration. I constantly record stuff with the app or drop field recordings in to Life. With this update, many of the initial complaints have been addressed.

Anyone have an issue dragging audio into Life from an audio track in your DAW (I'm using Cubase)? According to the XLN overview video you are supposed to be able to drag and drop and audio file into Life from within the DAW, Cubase just shows me the crossed out cursor when I try to do that, wondering if it is just my setup or something. I can export the audio to the drive and then manually import it into Life but that's kind of a PITA. Might have to open a ticket since they say you are supposed to be able to drag and drop like that, but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions like I might be doing it the wrong way or something. Thanks.

I just updated but the cloud sync packs still show the last update as being March last year? Am I missing anything?
