Demoed. Very unimpressive. Looks good but is far from user-friendly. Sounds pretty mediocre. But at least it's as buggy and unreliable as the old Ohmicide was, so that's great for nostalgia reasons
The loudness war is over, loudness has won

Bought it and I like it a lot. YMMV!

The knob thing is a legit complaint imo...

The interface is a bit jumpy in general.

Not a deal breaker but definitely could be tightened up.

I notice it a lot on the bypass mute and solo buttons on the bands.

They can be really inconsistent.

Hmmm. Curious... IIRC, 'they' were amongst the first, if not the first to have a means (right-click, or a key-press) to allow you to "fine-tune" a knob/slider. I think they may have even licensed it to other devs. Could be wrong, but theirs were definitely the first plug-ins that I noticed this ability, way way way back.

...entitled hyperbolic whining over sums that amount to a short visit to a pub or a budget meal in a casual restaurant? Completely other.
95 USD for a budget meal or trip to a pub? Right, sure, whatever you say dude.

P.S. it's overpriced.
Uhhh… no. 🙄

Full price is 99€. Discounted price for previous license owners is 79€. So, a discount of –20%.

That wasn’t enough for some people, they wanted discounts from –30% to –50%, etc., calling the current discount… insufficient, with all kinds of hyperbolic language used to describe both the current pricing and Ohm Force.

So, a whole lot of noise and bad air about 20-30€, hence my reference to the pub visit or a budget meal. Ok?

Did that help clarify things?

Oh, let me say this also, for me it would not have been overpriced even at 99€. It is just awesome for the kind of music that I make (industrial and other such noisy and dark stuff plus sound design), basically, it is without comparison when it comes to the character of sound I can easily get out of it.

Others might disagree and that is their right, they can vote with their wallets. But that hyperbolic harping about the prices… well, like I’ve said, it is not a good look.
What are the penalties for having an unfavorable look, and who decides which look is good or bad? For God's sake man, tell me! :bang:

Wait, are you the look police? May I see your badge sir? :wheee:

What's annoying is it's not a bug, it's the shitty knob physics they added on purpose. If you want to change a value it's like trying to play f**king skee ball with a mouse.

Just demo'd it, Ohmicide-S has some interesting "dynamic distortion" effects (lfo or envelope-controlled, apparently) which I'm not sure if I can get elsewhere. It sounded fine to me. Not sure how much I need this, but it's on my radar...

Saturn2 can do that too.

True, but saturn cant distort like ohmicide. Not even close.

based on earlier post by redforce it sounds like they're tweaking it.. would be cool if there was a 'knob physics' preference somewhere for a different option.

^ absolutely, this is the way. They should add a setting so that if the physics happen to work with your input device, you can leave them on, otherwise, you can turn them off and have normal, linear control. Everybody wins.

That would be nice, plus, controls over UI-scaling. :)
