Ok, 2 things.
1 Thing: I got the firmware (ROM) bin file, loaded and the plugin sounds amazing.
2 Thing: Am I allowed to use the sounds coming from it for my commercial music releases?
Point 1: The original synth is discontinued.
Point 2: You need to own the synth in order to use the ROM.
Point 3: There is not f...ing way for ROLAND to verify that you own the physical synth that you purchased (fourth hand)
from Marketplace.
Point 4: Regarding point 3, the day after purchasing it from Marketplace, it broke, my brother landed a dumbbell on it,
and then I threw it in the bin.
Point 5: Now I got the ROM which I am allowed to use because I purchased the synth, but I don't have the synth anymore.
Point 6: This actually happened to me with the Virus synth.
So....in regards to the second thing, I am allowed to use it for my commercial music releases!
Please leave your comments, cheers

No one really knows the answers to these questions…I used to own tc powercore virus and it was discontinued so I sort of feel ‘entitled’ to use the virus emulation…that’s good enough for me!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Mate, you've written several points trying to convince yourself (and us) that temporarily owning a synth grants you eternal rights to Roland's firmware. It doesn't. That's just piracy with extra steps and a creative backstory.
Loads of people do exactly what you're doing. Most never face consequences. But don't dress it up as legitimate because you once owned the hardware - you don't anymore, and the license went with it.
If you're genuinely worried about commercial releases, spend £400 on another used JP-8080 or use a licensed software like everyone else. If you're not worried, crack on - but skip the mental gymnastics trying to justify it.

I have just purchased jp-8080 rackmount unit for 1100€ but saw news about this vst. Is jp-8000 plugin produced by Arturia?

Both Arturia Jup-8000 and Adam Szabo's Airwave are plugins based on the JP-8000. JE8086 is a JP-8000 chip emulator, which would give you a 1:1 plugin version of the JP-8000 subject to you having the JP-8000 firmware.digitalbeat wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:21 am I have just purchased jp-8080 rackmount unit for 1100€ but saw news about this vst. Small correction, Airwave is a JP-8080 emulation and not the JP-8000. It has more voices, unison, and can load patches from the hardware, while the Arturia one does not.db3 wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:35 am Both Arturia Jup-8000 and Adam Szabo's Airwave are plugins based on the JP-8000. I don't think there's any 'cracking on' in this.

I just read about this convertor, though I don't have the Arturia JUP-8000 V to test it out:adamszabo wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 1:07 pmSmall correction, Airwave is a JP-8080 emulation and not the JP-8000. As usual on Github I have no idea where you download this or are people supposed to compile their own? (ah someone in the thread said 'view RAW' - that's weird but it worked)Examigan wrote: Thu Jan 01, 2026 10:44 pmI just read about this convertor, though I don't have the Arturia JUP-8000 V to test it out:adamszabo wrote: Wed Dec 31, 2025 1:07 pmSmall correction, Airwave is a JP-8080 emulation and not the JP-8000. I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

It sounds absolutely killer.
I'm gonna midi map it to my System 8 over the weekend.
