I found that "YYeet - Unspoken" track has an error in the voting list, but it plays normally in the SC playlist. Please fix it...

Right? I'm still genuinely amazed by how good Synthmaster sounds out of the box!
Polynik77 wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 12:02 pm My average experience with Soundcloud seemingly worsens every year, I regret giving them my money and buying in the ecosystem. And while the audio comments still look cool and the UI still gives me good memories, I actively tell every student to avoid SC subscription for multiple reasons
Yeah, I really like their comment functionality, being able to comment at specific times, and the sorting options. They did some things excellently. But it's clearly been enshitified :/ I'm glad I'm in good company at least lol.

I've been wondering how long it will be before SC becomes too intolerable for OSC. I wish I had the money to develop my own sharing platform. Keep it owned and run by people who actually prioritize artists. I can dream...
Wait! What is going on here. I never wrote that second quote? It has the same time stamp as the first quote I actually wrote. WTF!

Omg you're right!! I tried to quote both of you in the same post, but I didn't realize I had copied the same tag. Apologies! That's totally my bad 😅😅😅

I just updated the original post to quote Vospi correctly!

I recently got a warning for 'clicking around too much' ... sigh...
They actually suspended your account? That's insane! And seriously, "clicking around too much" -- shouldn't they be welcoming user interaction? I'm glad you didn't let them permanently deter you. And thx for the heads up!
Parduz wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 7:02 am Despite being me not so good at leaving comments, getting them is one of the most rewarding part of the OSC, no matter if positive or negative; it makes me feel "listened", not just "voted" (I know it is almost never the case, still i feel this way). I'm so sad that when a user leaves soundcloud his comments disappear: they were part of the history of my track.
It would be awesome of they preserved historical comments. Just a greyed out username. Not like they're reading this, but that's a big loss. And it would motivate creators to stick around long-term.
Fbr wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 10:43 pm I agree with riot, not doing all comments on one or two days would usually be better. I think your comments are very competent and positive, so keep on commenting.

Maybe complain at Soundcloud about that warning, if enough (ok the OSC Community will not be enough for that) complain they might loosen their metric. ;-)
Thanks! I'm thinking maybe next time I'll try spacing out my listening a little more. But I might also reach out to Soundcloud for clarification about those rules. For me, I get periods that are intensely busy, then when I have time, I like to hamper down and knock a ton out. The past week has been a whirlwind. Feb 1 feels like it was months ago lol. It would definitely hinder my workflow to have to space things out. And March is gonna be even crazier. But we'll see...

Thanks everyone for the helpful thoughts! OSC is such a fun and positive event. And highly motivating! Next month, I'm coordinating a project to install a few keyboard workstations at my school for my elementary students. 😎

Finished voting last week, and there is so much goodness that I had to refine my voting technique! If I loved a track and wanted to give it a 5, I asked myself a few questions:
  1. Could I listen to this track multiple times and still enjoy it?
  2. If this ended up winning, would I be ok with that?
  3. Would I be sad/disappointed that something else didn't win.
  4. Were there any moments that fall significantly short of the standard of the rest of the track? Whether compositionally or sound-design-wise?
Even with those restrictions, I still ended up giving half a dozen 5s. And there were several that I painfully moved into the 4 category.

Anyway, you're all amazing. Thanks for the great music and inspiration!

yeah, it always have been hard to vote, on the OSCs.

And is interesting to see how much differently each one of use vote.
As example:

I couldn't ask this to myself, 'cause there's some track that I didn't enjoy AT ALL, but they sounded great thanks to amazing synthesis skills, and this is primarly a Synthesis contest; so I felt that the track deserved my 5 even if I don't like the genre and i won't listen to that track anymore.
But sure, composition/mixing/mastering skills and personal tastes all have a weight on the votes, in the end, otherwise we could vote on one single note showing a single preset

So many great tracks. I Gave more 5 and more 4 than usual. glad to find more musicality and less experimentation in entries. Happy to listen tracks from time missing oscers that i love.
I also feel a progressive growth of some guys  and a part of the credit also goes to One Synth Challenge and its environment!

I finished voting yesterday. It's absolutely subjective, totally unfair, and if I would revisit my votes today I'd probably disagree with myself...
