I’m very excited about this one. I didn’t know about the book before, and I don’t want to search for the existing PDF copies out there. I like the journey took to get this made. I can definitely respect it. This should help me quite a bit with gaining more from what I have, as well as shine some glaring spot lights on what I don’t.vurt wrote: Fri Jul 15, 2022 2:26 pmlooks like kvr will be a bit dead as far as we're all concerned on release, as we all open a real bookelxsound wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 6:31 pmOrdered the hardcover with stickersShabdahbriah wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 4:44 pm This:

i look forward to what everyone gets from it, like many patches, im sure we will all have our own interpretation of these, due to modules in our racks
as well as personal aesthetics we all have

I don't have one, but DPO is def a cool module, and an update is pretty long overdue. And yes, the very few presentations I've seen Tony/Make Noise do were all at Perfect Circuit, and they were showing new stuff.foosnark wrote: Fri Jul 15, 2022 2:41 pm My final speculation on the new Make Noise thing is a major update to the DPO (or a whole new flagship oscillator). Because:
- the announcement seems like a big deal, with Tony and Rodent going to the (ahem) West Coast to demo it. Make Noise doesn't often send anyone to industry events / meets / etc. that aren't local.
- DPO is one of their few major modules that hasn't seen an update. Parts for the original design might be scarce, particularly vactrols.
- analog VCOs with TZFM have been a big deal recently, and TZFM would be a beautiful addition to the DPO.
- some wishful thinking on my part.
Isn't that 'Rodent' dude, the guy that started Modular On The Spot with Bana Haffar? If so, (though he could have relocated) I think he is based in LA.

although i knew of it, aside from a couple of pages from the recording section, we were shown on the overhead projector in a lecture, never got my hands on it.elxsound wrote: Fri Jul 15, 2022 3:20 pmI’m very excited about this one. have watched but never tried the strange patching series make noise did, as it's a lot of stuff i don't have, and at the time, didn't have much of a clue what would work in their place, like to think ive learned a bit more, and the book obviously won't be module specific.
im sure ill learn plenty, specially as i really know very little

and we are sure module, doesn't include "desktop synth" type thing, it's definitely an actual module for a rack?
i only ask, because i recently put my trio in the 3 tier rack, so have been expecting the fourth ever since.

Also there's this on the Make Noise instagram now:

Looks like a VCA symbol to me maybe?

looks like a play button on a tape, can't be morphagene update? or some other sample/playback thing?
although, vca, with the flyer images, could be outputs for release/decay glyphs?
