I've only tested Repro 1 on this system which is mainly used for Internet and E-Mail. It's an ancient Core 2 Duo running at 3.16 Ghz:

INIT Patch Repro 1 = 11%

INIT Patch The Legend = 4%

One C3 note sequenced run in a loop. Reaper 4.78

Also Repro 1 shows average 10% CPU use when no audio is being processed (INIT patch).

I'll probably buy Repro 1 but it does seem just a bit CPU hungry. Nothing my studio computer can't handle. Actually Repro and Legend layered should be interesting........

20 instances using those effects, Jaws in particular? :o
Yup, exactly, Jaws was enabled. In fact, all effects except ResQ were on. Same patch on all 20 instances. Pretty high resonance too. This i7-6700K is smokin' :)

Just opening up Repro1 in FL Studio 12 (64bit) makes the CPU usage jump from 1% to 22%.

Compared to the alpha, that was idle at 42-3% usage, so the beta has halved that, but still too much though

Bazille being idle uses just 1% on my system, Hive and ACE idle is at 5%

So Repro1 uses a lot more CPU compared with those three

If I got that right yesterday, it doesn't matter what you do on the plugin, there is no idle load as such. As soon as you load it, it hits the max 8)

:dog: Damn. Wish he did the gift for owners of all synths. I sold uhbik and presswerk.

It'll be optimised a bit further before release. It's a beta after all...

It's however a bit weird to compare it to a Minimoog emulation. It's a lot easier on CPU to make a Minimoog emulation sound good than a Pro-One emulation. Also, if Jaws uses a lot of CPU (it does) then one can't possibly turn this into a disadvantage over something that doesn't have a comparable module to begin with.

Except the CPU hit it is rather excellent :tu:

I dig the "hidden" FX section, would be amazing if those boxes could be released outside of Repro too

The sequencer is fun to programme

Are there actually 5 oscillators (+ noise) or are the different waveforms within each osc section derived from the same signal? I think Roland's Juno synths worked like that.

Why is that ?

My tests were done with Jaws disabled. Enabling it raises the idle CPU from 10% to 16% (again on this old internet computer).

It is a lot lighter on the wallet of the users too.

Compared with the recent Legend, Repro got tons more features, a dedicated FX section, Tweak page, Sequencer page.

Both plugs are priced the same.

Why is that ?
Because Minimoog does NOT have 12 octaves of pitch/cutoff modulation range.

Why are there 2 threads? Gonna be hard for the dev to spot all reports with both threads running.

You mean, there can only be two separate threads running for The Legend ?

If a master programmer like urs can't manage to monitor two threads, he better pack up the business

I suppose a thread in the Instruments forum creates more attention and hence sales. The purpose of the thread in the U-he forum is probably reporting bugs and giving feedback.

Why not.
In one thread people who prefer not to upgrade hardware gonna complain about CPU usage, in other thread people gonna celebrate quality of new milestone in analog emulation.
Murderous duck!
