It should be as loud as an acoustic guitar with the default settings, like when you first turn it on.
You shouldn't be turning it up all the way without earplugs.
Yours sounds faulty.

Actually, I think mine exhibits a little distortion if I try to turn it up all the way. Typically, though, I keep the volume all the way down and trigger sounds via MIDI.

I'm sorry to appear dumb, but where are these 'scripts' located and is there any form of a tutorial for loading and using them ? I'd really like to use my EZ a lot more.

My script environment is at the website shown below. Not too much so far as official instruction or tutorial, though. Contact me (or post here) if you need help.

Thanks, I definitely don't need earplugs with the default speaker.RunBeerRun wrote:It should be as loud as an acoustic guitar with the default settings, like when you first turn it on.

Mine isn't getting nearly as loud as my accoustic played normally even when I turn it up all the way and when I do it's so distorted it sounds awful. At half volume the sounds of the pick are significantly louder than the instrument. It's inaudible by just using the buttons, so it needs to be strummed.

You're welcome for not needing earplugs.

Has anyone used their EZ-guitar with the MIDI Solutions Event Processor? It's only $120 for the cut down version and like $169 for the pro.
I think the biggest hurdle is how the notes ring out forever. I don't want to keep hitting the note-off bar every two seconds while I play.
I opened up MIDI-OX to get more info, and wrote a little script that produced note-off. That's it, I don't know how long of programming I would need to do.

I've been looking into the software download of the Event Processor, I don't think you can make an EZ-AG work well with it.
I could specify every single sysex value of each note's note-off, but I don't know how to get each note to stop once I stop playing it. My sysex knowledge would get me nowhere here.
Or I could set the low velocities to always trigger note-off, so I'd have to play every note twice to have it sound normal. That sucks!
Edit: actually, I can't say for sure. The big problem is the notes ring out forever instead of how long I have the note fretted. Maybe if I set the note-on high, and note-off with just below that velocity. I might have to buy one of these and test, if it doesn't work, I can return it.

Check this Piz plug out: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 66#3186066
Now I can use just vst to make the ez useable. Not as good as a script, there's no hammer-ons. But cheaper than hardware.

I just discovered, that turning the speaker off affects the midi! You turn it off, and the notes ring out forever and there's no hammer-ons.
See I'm thinking about a V-Machine vsti hardware deal. Not sure if i'll run the EZG Suite with it's sysex. But I can run ndcmidi velocity range and it plays well.
These things are odd. But dirt cheap.

Please pardon me for not reading the thread through. I just saw one of these go for $189 on feeBay - is this the current used price? Are they still made?

Don't bother to buy one of these, I doesn't work. Like you said the problem is the note off situation and you can't solve it, or i should say I didn't find a solution.RunBeerRun wrote:I've been looking into the software download of the Event Processor, I don't think you can make an EZ-AG work well with it.

I haven't looked at used prices for a while, but that's about the price you could get the EZ-AG for a while from wholesale outlets, and the EZ-EG might be a little more.krank wrote:Please pardon me for not reading the thread through. From all indications, they're no longer being made. The price had also fluctuated with their availability while it was being discontinued, sometimes down to $129 or so.
But now they're a bit rarer, so it's a different market. Some sellers might mark it up for that. Others might simply want it off their hands!

I didn't really read that reply to my post, but yeah I wouldn't get any hardware midi processor, you can make do with vst velocity stuff.
