silicon/silicium, the first post should have the blue version as attachment... yes, it is, http://www.xt-user.com/system/files/contrast2007.gui

ok it's not the first version, I toned down the blue colour just a little bit.

Thanks, that was the confirmation I was looking for 8) I can't get the blue tone to fit the light grey background, it looks a bit strange. Sadly it changes the "feel" of the skin from cheerful to bit more clinical. I'll post another version.
Actually that was my thought. I like all the colors that make up the skin.......just not together at the same time. I like the "CronoX" yellow against the grey background. The Blue just made the whole skin look.........well I'll use the words unpleasant to my eyes. Excellent work but I'm still looking for that skin that puts XT2 in the same visual league as Cubase/Sonar etc. ( as it is my opinion that XT2 is every bit as professional and more forward thinking that any of the "Big Boys").

Thanks, I agree with the colour mismatch, the white version works much better.

I don't think Sonar and Logic are in the same league with Cubase/Nuendo, and the rest are much worse than eXT, with exception of Podium and Reaper maybe. I've been examining the Cubase interface and hope put my findings to good use with XT2 and it's improved alpha color handling (.png). XT2 has also way better layout, it will be much easier to make it look "professional". I don't see how the eXT1.x mixer could ever look like this:

It simply doesn't have those beautiful proportions and elements, and I couldn't implement the fader thumb shadows. I think those mute and solo buttons are dead ugly by the way, and a reason why I've decided not to make replica skin.

However it seems that there is still plenty of time to experiment with ideas in practise with eXT1.4, designing XT2 skins is not much fun yet, even though I have a pretty complete mock-up ready ;-)

Sorry Subject, it won't be a Cubase replica, that would be too lame.

Actually I was thinking about SAW Studio, you know something really professional in the 2500 eur price range.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Of course I wouldn't want a Cubase clone skin, because as you say that would be lame. But the easy on the eye color scheme, just enough depth to give the eye some reference and the overall polished look of the mock up is a huge step in the right direction......In my opinion of course, realizing that I'm in the vast minority when it comes to preference in XT skins. :hihi:

(Saw Studio........Well certainly one of the Big (Money) Boys but wood........ :drunk:

This is exactly why I love the fact that XT2 will be skinnable, I simply cannot understand why some people insist that their software has to look like 3d hardware. Personally, I want to get as far away from that paradigm as possible, I want XT2 to look completely flat.

We're all different of course, I just love the fact that in this case we can choose.
