There is also quite some aliasing or whatever that noise is with certain oscillator configurations. And yes, I have saturation, drive and noise turned off. I know the same noise from Predator.

I have to agree. I'd love to see another synth that has the same "Mojo" (yes,undefinable term) as The Legend but with all the feature requests that people want tacked onto Legend.

Maybe a Model 15 would be a good start.

This could then be further developed into a full blown System 55...

Why would you even bring up hardware ? I sold my analog synths long ago.......

Is the request for a new VSTi synth that controversial ? If it is I better never see anyone here asking for anything again........

From a sound design standpoint, pretty much. The number of unique patches a synth can make are determined by the complexity of that synth. A synth that can load Wavetables or Samples is going to have an order of magnitude more unique sounds than a synth with a set number of Osc Wavforms and so on.

The Legend isn't designed to do everything it's designed to do a few things but do them very very well and it succeeds in that mission.

Hence the desire for that same quality and character to be added to a new synth with more sound design possibilities. Many such requests have been outlined by people in this thread even Fluffy who has basically asked for more Polyphony.

I don't think it's too hard to grasp. A little is Good a Lot is Better.

It's a bit obtuse to pretend that an expanded synth with added features and functions wouldn't be able to greatly extend the available sound pallet of the original.

A souped up Legend could only increase the sonic capabilities in hand.
Wouldn't be a minimoog clone any more, but that's all right, isn't it? Whatever works and pays the bills.

I recorded a little audio of a (what I consider) warm Hybrid 3 pad and you can try to make Legend sound that way, I don't think you will succeed. I can even send you the H3 patch so that you can't say I am cheating I did not use chorus as that would be unfair given Legend's lack of a chorus. I used three oscillators, just like Legend has them.

In my view Legend has a more compact sound stage somehow, which admittedly doesn't matter with mono sounds. Fine-detuning is also different. In Legend it is either not strong enough to make a real difference or it is too strong for polyphonic sounds. It seems to lack the sweet spot.

I know that is all a bit subjective. Still, that's how I see it...
