Stevie Ray Vaughan has a quite impressive ability to interpret music (into his Texas Blues style of playing). I don't think I've heard anyone do Hendrix as much justice as he has. He was able to mesh rather well with David Bowie while keeping his own style.

In his day, Eric Clapton was a better blues guitarist (while we're discussing the white blues guitarists), though for the remainder of his career he has certainly been overrated.

(Harrison Ford is overrated - bloody terrible actor.)

LOL!! What is wrong with you people, did NOBODY read my post until the full bottom? ( where the "NOT!" part is ). I love Stevie to death, and if one thing this guy is, is under-rated not overrated :)

Black or white, Stevie is a freaking legend, right up there next to Albert King, Hendrix, Buddy Guy, BB King...

No, it's not what you wrote - I think Nuffink was heartfelt in his comments, unfortunately.

actually pendulum is absolutely top notch (it's three guys). In production quality, they are the cream of the top when it comes to DnB, production-wise (them and Noisia, who are maybe not as top notch but WAY cooler and also my heros). Though Pendulum throws cheap-ass, cheesey melodies throughout their music.

DJ's? you're obviously not one. DJ's dont consider themselves (or as a DJ of 5 years i should say ourselves) musicians. I dont know why everyone is like "Oh yeah? well theyre not MAKING the music!!!" so fkucing what? we never said we were. DJ'ing takes years to get good, and its expensive. For not being an instrument, it's fkucing hard.

Drum n' Bass? where do you hear hype about it? it's not on t.v. or radio or pop culture at all. It doesnt have much hype to be over-rated, and the hype it does get is lived-up to.

Reason is what it is. Propellerheads never said anyhting about it being magic. Also Logic is top notch.

Youre spot on when it comes to pro tools, though
don't take me soo seriously - just started djing myself (been making tracks for almost 7 years, released tracks for 3 but never thought to touch turntable until like last month, and the only reason was to promote the new stuff we're starting to put out). we're not arteests, just having fun. just somethig else to do (most of us are either music students or we play in other types of bands but sometimes it's just fun to tinker with dnb tracks) I just find it funny how insanely serious the uk people take this stuff. even here in toronto, i'll go out to a local club, and some pretentious dj types will just spend the night complaining about mixes and stuff. at wemf, i spent the weekend talking to people who constantly said stuf like "it's way more complicated that just beat matching"... who cares. all this crap about building a mood, that's a little hard when the music sounds sooo similar. there's not that much depth to the music. it's just for fun times and dancing and etc.. the only thing that i can see remotely creative with the djing side of things is how to maybe find tunes that blend together in a way that creates some kind of interesting modulation or if you find tunes that are in the same key when they're beat matched or something like that. (and even then, it's still not that complicated, it's just fun)

Ozzy Osbourne....overated.
If it wasn't for his wife, he would have died of some drug before his solo career even started. His Sabbath stuff is the only stuff I can listen to. Does he even write his own lyrics? He is adored by millions around the world and for what? To sing cheezy power ballads with his nasally voice? Randy Rhodes was the shit and so is Zakk Wylde and Tony Iommi...THEY have talent.
And his stint with reality tv....what a way to end a career..not only does his music suck but anyone who had any respect, now realizes your a burnt-out retard who walks hunched over and shakin' like he's low on H and needs his ass wiped by his wife or kids.
Pretty harsh coming from a huge Black Sabbath fan...but what the hell? It took me a long time to admit...and after loyally buying all Ozzy solo albums, I can honestly say they all suck!!!
