1 - I only use a PC, so this one is obvious.brok landers wrote:mike, this sounds great ... though:
1. no pc version?? (i only see mac on the hp)
2. no strings, no percussions, etc ... is that to come?
3. does one have to buy each instrument seperately? or is there a bundle?
4. how is it on the cpu?
5. can one play it directly polyphonc on the keys?
2 - Orchestral brass, woodwinds soon and sax after that
3 - it comes as a bundle AND as individual instruments
4 - so far, not bad on the cpu, but I have not really put it through its paces yet, but it's coming up for the review.
5 - yes

so was this a scam/joke? I mean, why would demo clips of a -synthesizer- come with so much noise, as if they were recordings?
edit: oh I see there are demos.. weird
the VISA watermark sounded like a joke too

hahaha.. i was being a smart ass origionally.. having just read the thread, and seen no responses for a long long time...
glad it's not a farce.. but damn, why not just use a good brass/wind instrument sample cd and a good sampler or additive synth???

I would imagine that to get the most realistic behavior, you would want to use a breath controller. I've always wondered how some of the orchestral sample pros such as Jeremy Soule get such amazing expression from their sample libraries. He's a breath controller artist. There was a great interview with him, talking about his sampler computer farm and Logic workflow using his breath controller. Interesting stuff.
By the way, this instrument is mind blowing. Acoustic modeling has been a slumbering beast for a long time now and it's really exciting to see these recent developments, no doubt benefitting from the ever increasing processing power these days.

Because those can take forever to load and always sound the same. These are instant and infinitely more expressive. Plus, they sound convincingly real. Samples tend to always sound like samples.inf0tr8r wrote:hahaha.. i was being a smart ass origionally.. having just read the thread, and seen no responses for a long long time...

I corrected my answer above - you CAN buy each instrument separately or as a bundle, your choice.

. . . and WIVI has all the options for breath controllers - it's really amazingly deep!Tronam wrote:I would imagine that to get the most realistic behavior, you would want to use a breath controller. brok,
I just updated my answers above. After going through their forums, I now see they are working on woodwinds and after that saxophone.
I will have to ask them about strings and percussion.
I'll tell you, they have a homerun with this one!

seems like it ... seriously, this will be award winning ...
well, if wallander completes the instrument set with all usual orchestral instruments, then good bye, real orchestra recordings ...
i can imagine, if someone really knows how to adapt the playing of the real instruments on keys, plus is knowledged about scoring, how that will sound ...
this will revoulutionize the whole classical history ...

Impressive to me.. the sound is realistic enough to me to the point where I probably wouldn't notice its a synthesizer (if I didn't know it already)
a single instrument in the demo used around 5-6% cpu on my aging athlon xp machine..

yes I'm interested in strings.. woodwinds would be nice too.. this coupled with a wind controller seems like it would be phenomenal.. it uses so little CPU

Well first off, a BIG thumbs up to the developer for making one of the best user friendly plug ins. No hassle, elegant and fun too (love the GUI).
There was mention that you can by a bundled package but i couldn't find this option. Where is it?

Wow! those sound good. too bad I don't use those instruments in my music too much. If they were packaged together at 100$ I might think about it.
Is he using a wind controller in the examples? Or poly AT? Or nothing?
