thanks duncan, you are one of the 3 who enjoy C&P, <sigh>,

comeon, guys and girls don't you wanna experience the freedom from the step sequencers?, LOL

I guess you don't
You can add at least one to that, I liked C&P. I've got a taste for the more bizzare audio apps though. ;)

I'd be interested in playing with the output waves of that with say cSound or something of the like. :)

i'm waiting for the weekend to try as many entries as i can. as you know from my beautiful screenshot :P that i couldn't get a chance to play with yours. but i'm looking forward to playing with everything properly.

i think the extension of the voting deadline is good because we'll have more time to learn, play, decide etc. :)

I'm not exactly sure where the hell you actually vote for these VSTs. I'm probably totally missing something really obvious (I blame this on the meds I'm on for this damnable flu-cold thing).

Anyway, to be blunt and honest:

I only tried the VST that did not require using an installation program because I say a big fat f**ks to that. There is no reason to have an installation program for a VST... I guess it's more "professional", whatever, my registry is screwed up enough already, thanks.

Anyway, I tried the non-installation ones. Out of all those, to be rudely honest, I wasn't very impressed with most of the entries. While I do admire the effort and whim to enter the contest, I feel the vast majority of these VST certainly do not deserve a chance at being worth $1400+.

That is not to knock the contest -which I think was and still is a wonderful idea-. I think next year's will have much higher quality entries as more of the bigger boys will probably drop something under assumed names for a chance at the $$$ and noteriety in zines and such.

Anyway... my final vote would have to be for:

CUBIX

Totally professional design, sound, and the manual is tops. Clearly a ton of effort went into Psychic Modulation's entry, and it's the first drumsynth to really rival Odo's best. Plus, unlike a lot of other entries, it didn't outright CRASH FL Studio, thank God.

So that's what I think. Tell me where to officially vote, please. :p

you lazy bastard. :p

----Voting is right below the plug-in listings. You have until the end of the month to vote though Jack, plus ya havta vote for 5, and I know ya can get at least 5 of them to work in FL, 5 with no installers or extras required even, so calm down :hihi:

Jack: Our installer doesn't bite. The only thing it actually installs is a tiny bitmap font, besides that it just copies the files to the vst folder you pick. It doesn't leave any registry posts, uninstallers or other crap. Cause I likely dislike that stuff just as much as you.

I know :dog: , I was teh stupid on this one. If it makes you feel better, I was going to make EVP Enhancer MKII my entry, and no one would of voted for that anyway. :p

>>Jeff

Well, at least I can say SE doesn't have to fear the SM.

Why require that bitmap font to even be installed like that? Why not include a .TXT saying where it needs to go? Installers insult my intelligence! Because I'm a royal arsehead, yes. Now I'm going to bed.

Hey but Majken, I'm sure your VST is great though. My loss man, my loss.

I have to say I like Cubix quite a bit!
Gotta like a plug that inspires you to record after just testing it.
Great Work Psychic Modulation!

Post

Jack,
Do I sense some bitterness???
You obviously don't know anything about installers.
Maybe you should learn something before you open your mouth,
and give the devs the respect of trying the plugs before trashing them.
If only you knew how transparent and foolish you look to us. You are fermenting in a pool of your own toxic jealousy and spitting out bits of radioactive negativity all over "the scene".
I only speak up because I came accross you aimlessly trashing our plugs on forums a couple of years ago.
NEWSFLASH- PEOPLE DO GOOGLE SEARCHES TO FIND OUT WHAT HITS THERE ARE ABOUT THEM!!!
grow up.

Man.. you can dress up a KVR'er for a compo.. but you sure can't make em not flame.

:D

Jack:
Here you go, just for you mate.. just for you ;)

Oh, yes and you have to manually install the font by copying it to your Font directory. But you kind of know that by now though, heh :)

Don't confuse any .exe file for an installer :o :-o

Oh wait, you were talking about VSTs.. :(

Send me all your feature requests and I just might make all your wet dreams come true.
