bduffy, thanks!
payt69, have you tried changing your Poly-Ana background? There's currently a few choices that you might find easier on your eyes. http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... ackgrounds
Not planning a new interface any time soon, but I wouldn't completely rule it out either.
I dunno... I like it!

I might scale it down a bit, but change the look? No, it's very distinctive. Why do all GUIs have to look the same?

Yeah, it looks different, and it looks exactly like it sounds! And now that flatscreens are becoming commonplace, it's becoming less of a concern. But I'm a total fanboy, in case you couldn't tell.
How many presets will this ship with?

well i've been paying with it for a while now. It's been long since a synth kept my attention for this long.. i'm creating some interesting sounds with it, and i'm getting used to the way it looks.AdmiralQuality wrote:bduffy, thanks!

Ok, but it makes a drone sound that drowns out the incoming synth.(There's a new hold button to the right of the keyboard to help here.
I know, did that already. And you need to press the IN-1 and/or IN-2 buttons on the filters if you want to use the incoming sound as sound. Otherwise incoming sound is just goes to the IN-1 and IN-2 modulation sources, which you can use to make envelope following effects, etc.
SUCCESS!Was it either of those things? If not, don't worry, we'll work through it.
Once I turned down Amp level on OSC1,2, and 3, the drone obviously disappearred. Then I was left with the incoming signal being sent thro Poly-a's filters. Looking at it now, it seems obvious, but yesterday it sure wasn't!

Good stuff Improv!
Did you get a chance to try that FX patch I posted for you?
This one applies a envelope following filters (as many as you play notes) to the input:
http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... wInput.zip
Goes good on guitar. Kind of like an auto-wah, but there's as many auto-wahs as you play notes, all in tune with each other (I find playing big spread out fifths and octaves quite effective with this patch.)
Here's one that acts like a comb filter where the teeth of the comb are determined by which notes you play:
http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... Filter.zip
Try playing fast arpeggios with that one in the same key as the audio on the track you're processing. You can play the music in the music!

Hey folks,
I've got a bug report from an Ableton Live user. He gets occasional stuck notes in Ableton and says it's not returning to tune after pitchbending (either that or the pitchbend is moving on it's own, the behavior he reports kind of keeps on changing.
)
Anyway, just wanted to throw this out there. Anybody else seen this? In any host? And, if you're an Ableton Live 6 user who's NOT having any problems with your Poly-Ana, could you let me know as well. I fear it might just be this one guy's system that's somehow special as I haven't heard these reports from anyone else.
Please post here, email, or PM me with your Ableton observations.
Thanks everyone.

HI!
Well it's an inspiring synth. I'm not sure if it's because of my setup (my compy seems a bit cranky as of lately), but i can't run more that 2 instances of poly-ana. If i try anyway, then the result is silence; none of the instruments make any sound anymore. I'm using cubase SX 3 btw.
I did manage to make this little ditty though. It turns out that poly-ana can come pretty close to what used to be a typical CS-80 sound, which no other synth i know has been able to reproduce too well. This seems pretty close though.. it;s the 'guitar' sound we all know from songs like 'to the unknown man'.
Just have a listen:

The strings are also poly-ana, the bass isn't.

Hey very nice piece, yea I agree, Poly-Ana can sound very lively and organic, a bit like Cs-80. (that's why I bought it). I'm pretty sure that if you could extend this to last more than >3 min. AQ would gladly add it as a demo on his site.
Btw I'd already heard and even commented some of your tracks payt, and I know you've got a lot of potential (at ?) building solid melodies. Show us what you got man ; )
edit : what about adding some modulation/vibrato to the tail of the 'guitar' sound btw ? (Imo, the snare's a bit too harsh or loud, dunno, but that may just be me)

Hey Payt69, nice groove!
I just did a little test with 4 instances of Poly-Ana in SX 3 and it's working fine. Could you try reloading your project (actually, restart the host entirely) and seeing if it gets better? If that doesn't help, could you try just creating a new project with 3 or more Poly-Anas and 3 or more MIDI tracks and get them all playing at once.
Thanks!!!

I have to hit the hay early today, since i have to get up rediculously early. I will see if i can get something done tomorrow though, and will post results as soon as i have them.
In the meanwhile, here are some of the sounds i made with polyana. You are free to add them to your product if you like, admiral (if you like any of them, that is

Sorry for the delay-I got busy this week. The patch sounds great as a guitar fx-very cool growly wa-wa.AdmiralQuality wrote: Did you get a chance to try that FX patch I posted for you?
