Yeah, these guys are good - I've used support a few times for various reasons and they've always been helpful. I've also pestered them about the plugins that had not been released and always received courteous and realistic responses.

Now Ray - any breaks for those who adopted early and bought what was available but still need FMagia and DnB?

I'm still enjoying my Plugiator, bought around September time. I picked up both the unit and sound bundle at Thomann - again on the basis of cost. Although I notice the prices in the UK have fallen a little since launch.

It's good to see Ray's presence here. There are a few minor glitches I've picked up, generally when switching patches / plug-ins, but overall I've found it to be stable. The Prodyssey and FMagia are my two most used plug-ins at the moment. I must say though, whoeever designed the user interface for the FMagia needs to be taken outside and kicked in the shins, it's awful. I'd rather a single screen with all / most of the tweak options on than the current set-up.

One other thing I would like to see, but it maybe isn't achievable is that in B4000 mode, there should be an option to specify and route the midi signals for the two separate manuals and the pedals. In NI's B4II for example, I have upper manual as CH1, lower manual on CH2 and the pedals on CH3 - which is 99.9% the same as the factory set-ups for clonewheel / dual manual organs.

Long term, I think the plugiator concept is a good one, but things that would add value to me would include:

• Greater flexibility and ability to save presets / favourites on the plugiator.
• Layering and splitting sounds - it'd be great to have the ability to combine sounds from plug-ins
• Some form of screen - I know there is a cost / simplicity rationale behind not using a screen, but I really do think adding one would give more flexibility and user feedback
• Without changing the footprint, you could add more knobs and sliders to give greater control over tweaks away from the computer. My idea would be to get rid of the matrix design and fill the front with sliders / knobs. When you switch plug-ins, under each slider / fader a small LED screen could show the element and current value. This way, adding new plug-ins over and above the existing 8 would just need a new control map.

Anyway, that's all pie in the sky. The main thing for me is that it works and the sounds are good.

I dont want to sound like a skeptic - but somehow I doubt the Plugiator is going to ever be more than it is now - in hardware at least. Also something tells me we may not see any more synths. After all - werent they picked up from defunkt Creamware? USE Audio appears to be a cunning interception following the Creamware close that built a cheap and nifty interface to run their synths....

Maybe Im wrong about this?...Just what it seems to me. I dont have any grandiose expectations....would love to be proved wrong

though they've been saying that for a while. Not being a skeptic either, just realistic. However, isn't Drums n' Bass a new one for them? Or was there a Creamware equivalent already? I seem to remember it was new but I could be wrong - I am known to be on occasion.

Drums 'n' Bass and FMagia are new, no Creamware (now Sonic|Core) equivalent. Personally i would consider getting one if they fix the duo mode in Prodyssey (which they say they are going to).
