NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Oh sorry my bad - its an Edge III which is Ibanez's own designed system = forget the floyd spring arrangement as its totally different. Foam it :)
Sorry if I missed something in an earlier post but how do you foam it? My G&L Legacy has strips of cork between the strings, that works perfectly but I don't know where to get more cork like that.

btw, I recently got a copper block for my original Edge trem:

Just literally buy some thin acoustic foam, cut it into strips and wrap it around the springs and stuff the gaps also, its a bit untidy but does the job. Honestly i don't have any issues with mine and leave the back cover off because im too lazy to put it back on but i don't have the Ibanez in my arsenal yet (either latter today or tomorrow i will have though, but even then it very different to hibidy's model). Good call on copper blocks for increased sustain :tu: again though something i have never had to use but have put into others guitars FWIW

Hi Eric,
beautiful guitar with unique tone !
Your chiropractor will love it ... :P
Seriously, wonderful for recording, a bit heavy for long live gigs (that famous Beatles rooftop gig was pretty short afaik).
A nice addition to the collection.

On the Tom Anderson guitar subject - anybody tried his collaberation with Line-6 on the newly designed models? Out of intrest really. Not something i would buy but hey its a Tom Anderson for less than £1000  unless you do what Eric is doing of course which admitedly looks lovely man. But for me as a look only since i couldn't even dream of picking something that heavy up (a degenerative spine/disc/shot nerves condition which limits what i can play and i would never buy a guitar i could not play stood up  im used to it now but it was brutal when it started as alot of stuff i love was simply not do-able strapped on) Lovely top

Edit: oh yes the Tweaker is on my to try list Eric as soon as my local takes stock man :tu:

Thanks! I'm designing a line of guitars right now so that's really nice to hear! :)

hmm, aren't you worried about the foam getting caught in the springs? If you can find some cork, you might want to try that as it works well, it's clean, and it's solid enough that it retains its shape when the springs stretch.

My Ibanez sounds incredible with the Dimarzio Norton in the bridge but there's a part of me that still just wants to see what the block will do. Also, it's hopefully thick enough that it'll rest against the wood, thereby coupling the trem even more. I'm planning to put in all 5 springs on mine but I see where you're coming from with the 3 springs. EVH used 2 springs in his Frankenstrat.

I wonder about the foam too.

Of course the real test would be for me to just stfu and try it

My finger hurt btw (and I still suck  but it's so much fun :hyper: )

It has a chambered alder back so it hopefully shouldn't be too heavy (I chamber all my guitars these days). I thought of doing it with mahogany for the back and neck, just because the consistency with the rosewood top and fretboard would look cool, but I can't imagine that combination sounding very good, unfortunately. Anyway, I do more Muay Thai than guitar playing these days so weight isn't really an issue. ;)

You're thinking of James Tyler. The Les Paul-style model looks nice:

Even better then. :tu:
I was talking about a full-on rosewood Tele like Harrison used.
My own experience with chamberings have also been very good, one of my main guitars , a US Schecter CET-H, is heavily chambered and sounds fantastic.

The original Schecter Superock II PUs had very nice, fat rock tone, but after trying out the P-Rails there's no way back.

Trying to threaten me ? :x
In fact I first read "Mai Tai", better suited to my own ambitions, I guess. :D

Yeah, that'd be pretty painful. That doesn't seem like it'd sound any good, either!

Awesome! I didn't even know Schecter ever did chambering! Chambering brings out highs and lows so I'm hoping it succeeds in brightening the rosewood while thickening up the alder.

Cool! How are the P-Rails different? Are they convincing as single coils?

so for those p-rails, how do you have your wiring?

Dude, we should jam together some time. :) I suck too! I sure can make a lot of noise though.

When ever I hear someone doing even an approximation of a Steve Via or Eddy Van Halen I think they must be a different species than I am... the only other time I think that is when I watch a Cirque du Soleil show. :help:

Sorry to put a damper on the trem talk (Buy a transtrem!) I think this may be my next guitar.
