A quick edit (my original post quoted above) to say that this got fixed by Chris the following day. Shame about the quirk but spot on customer service from the GForce lads.Just purchased the upgrade and I'm pretty sure something has gone wonky. I've had no e-mail confirmation of my purchase and impOSCar2 hasn't been added to my account. After the purchase confirmation page (success) it returned to the GForce site to say I wasn't logged in and so far I'm at a loss.
Just e-mailed Chris but I've got no idea when he'll get a chance to respond.

This is an awesome upgrade, and I'm really addicted to this synth.

As far as I know, Colin's situation was sorted the next morning, when Chris started work again.Captain wrote:The exact same thing happened to me. It's always a shame when people post about their problems, but not about them being solved.
Just email Chris and he will sort out any such problems.

Any chance you'd consider bumping the levels back up to where they were in imp1? It's so quiet now with imp 1 patches. We are very capable of using the master level to turn down new unison patches. However the level is maxed on quiet patches.

The problem is I'll then be inundated with people asking for the levels back down again, for a start all the factory patches are tweaked with those levels in mind, and there are people who have already used this plugin on projects, including commercial releases, who wouldn't be best pleased to find their old projects now had messed up levels.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Any chance you'd consider bumping the levels back up to where they were in imp1? I'll think about whether there is a solution which will keep everyone happy, but otherwise I'll defer to customer support's decision on this, since they're the ones in the hot seat when it comes to keeping as many people as happy as possible.

The solution would be adding a +6 dB boost button for the output, or something.

I was thinking the same thing about the original sounds having a much lower output level.EvilDragon wrote:The solution would be adding a +6 dB boost button for the output, or something.
Your idea is good.
I found just turning the unison knob up a notch or 2, will give a good output boost, without changing the overall sound at all. Some unison setting do change it somewhat though.

Understandable. A boost option to put it back to the original level would be good though for when we are replacing it into older projects. The problem is that if you save your patch in Imp1, then load imp2 and load that patch, it is much quieter and there is no room to go up. So you have to load a utility gain device in your DAW.JonHodgson wrote:The problem is I'll then be inundated with people asking for the levels back down again, for a start all the factory patches are tweaked with those levels in mind, and there are people who have already used this plugin on projects, including commercial releases, who wouldn't be best pleased to find their old projects now had messed up levels.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Any chance you'd consider bumping the levels back up to where they were in imp1? hmmm, when I load a factory patch in imp2 that was also in imp1, and then that same one in imp1 side by side, the imp2 patch is much quiter. And like I said above, usually nowhere to go up..., for a start all the factory patches are tweaked with those levels in mind
It just seems much easier to lower the gain for new patches then have to compensate for old patches with external devices (or track levels if there is room).

Hi Jon,JonHodgson wrote:What patch type did you install? The default should have been set to that.
I knew this would confuse some people. The patch system is intended to cater for as many options as possible, some people like to access patches through the host, some through the browser, some seem to do both. There are two possible approaches to this, a lot of plugin developers just say "screw the host, it's our way or the highway"... I (probably foolishly) tried to cater for everyone.
It can read any patch type, if you never want to access through the host and only use the browser you don't even need to know about converting in that case, convertion is only really to convert it to a type the host can see.
What should be happening is that you set the patch type to whatever you want it to be (I recommend picking the patch type supported by your favourite host).. the easiest way to do that is to just select that one patch type the first time you install (you can also do it by editing the sup file), and then you drop any new patches of any type into the folder tree.
At that point you can read them through the browser, but if you want to be able to see them in the host (e.g. the drop down menus in logic) then hit the "c" icon and it will convert them to the patch type you chose.
It's a lot harder to explain than it is to use.
If refreshing the browser doesn't seem to help, try a hard refresh, which is CMD+Click on the refresh button, that builds the patch tree from scratch again.
But from your description something doesn't sound right, it should have recognized that you'd deleted those folders when you did a normal refresh.
I'm not having much luck with the patch conversion.
All my Imposcar patches are stored in individual .aupreset files grouped by folders (according to their original bank, eg a folder for BankOfWood, DogBoy73, etc). My preset type is set to AU in the .sup file.
I copy a folder to the new Imposcar2 preset folder - they are visible in Logic and in the new browser with a 'c'.
If I don't do any conversion and try to load in logic, the patch appears to load, but the patch sound does not change, and the patch name does not change.
If I convert one of the presets, I end up with a subfolder as described, but this folder has three presets in it, called somethng cryptic, like '/%83o>%FCjKillerLead.aupreset', '='%EF%9E.aupreset', '=#%D7=%D9%87SequenceBass.aupreset' plus one called 'Empty.aupreset'. None of these presets seem to work.
I don't think that it's the fact that the presets are in folders that is the problem - even if I drop a single aupreset file into the top folder and convert, it does not work. Is it because you're expecting aupresets as banks rather than individual presets?
I can send you files to look at if you want.
Thanks,
Ben

Ah, bit more experimentation proves that the conversion only works with banks of presets. This will be fine where I have the original banks, but my own presets are stored as individual aupreset files, so not sure what to do about those.
