Those are great demos, just when I wrote them off as just toys. Initially interested in Volca Beats, but now the Volca Bass piqued my interest.

So .. .with a machinedrum and an analog four, what volca would you pick?
Cool with real analog drums.
What does Bass have that Keys doesn't have? They're pretty similar, aren't they? Keys has a delay which is nice. I'd love to hear a demo where any of them trying to do some 303 acid.

Things I wish were demoed on the Volca Keys:
Sweep from zero detune to extreme detune on each of the 5 oscillator modes.
Since you can't select square or sawtooth oscillators, what are the waveshapes for each mode?
The range of how punchy and quick the envelope performs.
Is the filter is based on MS-20 or Mini-Korg 700?
Can you record three separate mono lines in the poly mode, or is it just one poly track?

Things I wish were demoed on the Volca Bass:
Is the filter is based on MS-20 or Mini-Korg 700?
The range of how punchy and quick the envelope performs.

Things I wish were demoed on the Volca Beats:
A sampling of how different each drum can sound like.
What is the rate and bit depth of the PCM samples?
Questions for all three
Can midi change parameters that aren't on the front panel?
How much un-intentional noise to these make?
How hackable is the circuit board? Especially separate outs on the Volca Beats.

I'm thinking I'll get myself the Beats version for xmas. I think with it, and my NL2X I might start maybe working on creating some live oriented material. Honestly, I don't have that much use for the keys or the bass, but I think I could find a real nice use for the Beats version!

These 3 are quickly becoming serious contenders for my next purchase.
Few small cons though: 18 batteries or 3 PSU's for power? That's a fair bit of weight / wall space to consider. Would be nice if you could power all 3 from 1 PSU, but I guess they have to make some sort of money back from these (provided you buy official Korg PSU's of course).
3 more input spaces needed on my mixer (or a mini mixer in the chain). Seeing as a lot of people will be buying more than just 1 of them, even all 3, an audio thru option would've been lovely. (Obviously this would affect the nice low price though).
And that's pretty much all the cons I can think of.
As I will most likely get all 3, I just now need to work out the best way to include my EMX-1 into the mix. I assume (and please, correct me if I'm wrong on this) I can run the EMX into 1 of the units using the Volcas midi in and then sync the other 2 using the sync in/out jacks? As for more I/O's, I'm sure I can sort something out evenyually.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
